It is, however, far too complimentary to Tony Bellew! Sorry my post wasn't clear. I meant any future fighters. They will feel just because 2 British fighters are involved it should automatically be PPV. The tone has been set with fights like Haye v Chisora, Haye v Harrison, AJ V Whyte etc etc.

ashleywater
I actually think Hye made some fair points about Eddie Hearn, during the pathetic trash talk fest that masqueraded as a pre fight press conference I also agree with everything Bellew said about Haye's last two "Fights" but then appreciate no one wants to fight Haye at the moment, as he has has no leverage from any perspective, soe knocks Bellew out and then what? Anyway not a single penny going on PPV anymore and knocking sky on the head come 1st January, in favour of Netflix for 10% the cost of sh1tty sky
billy2shots
I enjoyed the Lebedev v Gassiev fight in Russia the other night. Gassiev could go on to big things. He needs to improve a lot but has serious power. The best thing. Only 10 seconds of cuddling in 12 rounds. Proper boxing.
NewNiceMrMe
Ashley, you're right on Haye in respect of what next. Nothing. He can't win. He'll KO Bellew and people expect that. If he doesn't (won't happen), what then? Nothing. Billy Joe Saunders was appalling this weekend. Points win over a nobody and talking about GGG (although he did say he felt stupid doing so after the performance he gave).
Soulboy
Oh here's a surprise. Tantrum and violence at the press conference. Table prop for extra effect at this one! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-4009670/Dereck-Chisora-ends-press-conference-abruptly-launching-TABLE-Dillian-Whyte.html

NewNiceMrMe
Chisora should be banned for his own good. He loses it far too often yet is the nicest man you'd ever want to meet outside of the fight circus by all accounts. He is just far too easily wound up come fight time. BBBoC should just revoke his license immediately and make a stand, sending out the message that this type of thing just won't be tolerated in the UK. Fighters throw punches at close quarters quite often, but lifting a table and throwing it? Childish and stupidly dangerous.
Soulboy
There is an interesting issue I read about in boxing somewhere recently. It's along the lines that blows to the head boxers receive, damages the brain in a way that makes people more violent and aggressive with a shorter fuse. So even if someone is not like that before they start boxing, there's a good chance they will end up there. If they are already a hot head when they start boxing, well......... I love boxing......but hate what it does to people with big head shots. You don't get it so much in the amateurs thankfully - though not through want of trying. Soulboy
Found something about it. This us specifically about traumatic brain injuries in boxing. Speech may often be slow or slurred, while emotional and behavior problems may be varied (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2013). Some examples of the emotional and behavioral problems often observed include depression, anxiety, irritability, paranoia, anger, violence, impulsivity, noncompliance, social inappropriateness, egocentrism, aggression, and substance use/addiction. These can be quite serious changes in behavior. Some individuals with TBI have such serious changes in behavior and personality that they are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. It's not only Boxing, the NFL have major issues with this and Rugby is rapidly catching up with the possible long term effects on players If you haven't already seen it, watch the excellent "Crash Reel" HBO Documentary which follows the catastrophic result of a traumatic head injury of a snow boarder at the top of his game

BJS v GGG Total BS unless GGG has both hands tied behind his back and is only allowed to use his head and even then he would still win Nothing against BJS but it is about levels, and GGG is just stratosphere compared to BJS at FFL
NewNiceMrMe
I agree but Saunders thinks it should be his next but one fight. Hats off to Joshua for doing what everyone knew he'd do at the weekend. Now the main event beckons. I don't want to put a firm prediction on it yet but I can see him knocking Klitschko out. Cuprabob
Sadly, everytime I see or hear the name Vladimir Klitschko, all I can think of is the lucky b@stard is shagging Hayden Panettiere. Saunders should stay well clear unless they are paying him some stupid sum of money, but the match doesn't make any appeal as a boxing spectacle because everybody knows it is going to last about 2 rounds max Eubank junior v GGG is the fight I want to see, no interest whatsoever in BJS In regards to Vlad v AJ, I honestly think Vlad may be to clever and street smart for AJ at this stage of his career, thats why I think he wants to take the fight ASAP rather than wait for AJ to fully mature as a Heavyweight, you have to remeber Vlad is the master of not getting tagged, thats why Dr Steelhammer has been pretty cr4p to watch over the years
billy2shots
Jack V Degale Tonight/tomorrow morning 2am sky sports 1 A few years ago I thought Jack was going to be a sensation. Don't get me wrong he is still a good fighter but he has not quite reached the heights I thought he was heading to. Even before his unbeaten record went in 13/14? it looked to me like the Mayweather gravy train had diluted his determination. Should be a decent fight still. Degale would be my choice now which is a reversal of what I would have predicted a few years back if the original fight had gone ahead.
billy2shots
Top fight! Fight of the year contender already. I won't say who won for those who want to watch it later. Catch the replay, you won't be disappointed.
Scotty
I've just watched all three fights. I thought it had peaked after the first two but the main event was a real contest!
NewNiceMrMe
Mayweather really does talk like a tit. Saying that it was bad for boxing is ridiculous. De Gale had that won until a terribly unprofessional loss of concentration for a few seconds in the last round. It was a fair result.
Booster
Haye v Bellew. What a fight! I didn't know what to expect but I wasn't expecting that! Thought it was all over in the fifth or was it the sixth and really thought his corner should throw in the towel. Next came the flappy ankle! Haye was embarrassing after the fight pushing for the rematch.
billy2shots
Over the years I've made no secret of the fact I dislike Haye and think he is overrated at Heavyweight. I had no respect for how he went about his business in and out the ring. I went to to bed last night with massive respect for the guy havingh showed so much courage to get so far in the fight. Unfortunately my new found respect for Haye was short lived, having slept on it my thoughts are this. -Bellew a slightly better than average Cruiser had made it through the early rounds and the contest would have naturally swung in his favour in the later rounds regardless of injury. -Haye couldn't get that early knockout that he wanted and predicted. -Haye always mocks his opponents appearance as he himself likes to look good. Valuev, Ruiz,Chisora,Whyte and Bellew have all been publicly laughed at by Haye because of their body. Unfortunately for Haye it's his body that keeps letting him down time and time again. -Haye continues to write cheques that his ability and body just can't cash. Great cruiserweight , slightly better than average heavy. Ultimately though Haye cheated everyone. He knew his body wouldn't last the longer the fight went. Bellew knew it and called him out on it. Haye was happy to take the fight and artificially promote the 'hate' to grab as much cash as possible. Bellew publicly stated that Haye was broke and could only fight bums on DAVE and it appears that once again cash was more important than performance. A true pro would have upset fans in the short term and would have postponed until fully fit. Little sympathy and respect from me. Anyone who believed Haye would beat AJ has been watching Haye through rose tinted glasses I'm afraid.
ashleywater
Haye attitude has always stunk the place out, no class his attitude towards VK during the build up to their fight was juvenile to say the least, and his performance even worse Bellews coments were right on the money, that if he had been knocked out Haye would have been slagging him off as basically not fit to be in the same ring as him He didn'teven learn after being spanked by the most underated cruiser ever, Carl the Cat Thompson, a boxer involved in some incredible fights including the great Chris Eubank I find it highly amusing that all the brown nosers at sky especially that twunt smith, never at anytime made reference to the fact that he had been stopped previously in his career by a crusierweight I had a hefty wedge on Bellew, as I likened Haye to a Grade 1 chaser who after injury and inaction, comes out expecting to the win the gold cup without breaking a sweat, Haye is way past his prime losing both hand speed and power, and he couldn't put the cat away even when in his so called prime Totally agree with Booster that hayes reaction after the fight was cringeworthy, the reaction of a desperate flash the cash clubber who is staring down the barrel of a P45 Have a sneeky feeling that VK is going to outpoint AJ with some slick boxing, as if AJ doesnt get him out of there going down the stretch you have to wonder how well AJ is going to deal with those last three rounds physically given his phenomenal muscle mass, could be gassing by the 10th if VK is still in there
Soulboy
I tend to ignore most of the over hyped fights (Sky!!!)......as they are usually a let down. I watched Garcia v Thurman on Box Nation instead. Now that was a good fight....with some proper boxing skill on display.
Soulboy
Well I reckon Golovkin was lucky to get that win against Jacobs. I can also now see Golovkins achilles heal. With his undoubted power.....he stakes the middle of the ring and stalks his opponent to the ropes....then uses power punches. But when he is fighting someone with something dangerous (reach/lower/speed) like Jacobs....he can't seem to change his game. But more importantly, he has limited lateral movement. He just uses linear movement then batters his opponent on the ropes.
