It gets bette with my Vodafone journey.

So I changed my mind, decided I wanted a 128Gb iPhone 6 instead of the 64Gb.

Called up and they person said yeah thats no problem I will cancel your current order and raised a new one,

Hold on I say are you sure you can keep all of my discounts.

Hold the line, holding, holding. Yes we can get you the 20% off, yes but I get 30% off.

No sorry sir you don't its only 20%, no its not check my account its 30%.

Hold the line sir.

Head is start to get quite warm now.

So it does, but I can't give you 30% off.

But the last person was able to give me that when I dropped the tariff.

No they didn't

Yes they did check

Hold Sir

Oh so he has, but I can't

Ok leave things are they are and I will try and get in touch with our Corp team

Goes to look at phone after the call and what do I have in my inbox, yes you guessed it, you have cancelled your order!!!!! :ffs:

But then I check tracking its not but I'm back to the first stage and no idea if I have the phone coming next week or not. Yet again I will need to call them tomorrow.

Hmmmm. Don't think I like. Seems too big to be practical. 64gig is showing a capacity of 56 gig. God help those who have gone for the 16gig version.

As MrMe says, it is difficult to text with one thumb. Will give the 6 a go but won't be selling the 5 just in case I want to go back.

I've still got my 5.  However, I'll be sticking the 6 now that I've had it 4 or so days.

Reasons why:

- you get used to the screen size and holding it.  I've ordered a Piel Frama case though as I've already dropped it (today) and fortunatey it didn't wreck it.

- it is so damned fast

- the display is beyond stunning.  I showed it to a client today who was determined to stick with a 5.  They went off and ordered a 6.  :roflmao:

- the camera is fantastic

- it is so damned fast, oh hang on...

I couldn't go back to the 5 after this.  The 5 is easier to hold without doubt, but the performance on the 6 continues to impress.  At first I didn't think it was much faster than a 5.  Then I've used it more and more..and realised it is.

The display would be my primary reason though.  So bright and so clear.

So, i installed a new launcher last night. Does loads of really clever stuff, like create what it calls covers and shutters for icons. With a cover, it's like a mini folder, but i can just swipe down on an icon like the phone and up pops a mini space with quick dials, contact pics included. If i press the button, app opens as normal. With shutters, i can swipe on say Facebook or Chrome and have a mini widget popup rather than launching the full app.

Other things, well i can resize icons, place them where i like resize number of rows and columns, swipe right for a favourites slide in widget with both recent and pinned apps. Its so damned quick too with no noticeable battery drain. Added a new icon pack as well, so i can change some of the standard icons.

So, how are you guys getting on with those new iphone thingies? :)

:) Trawled internet and found a fix for the bluetooth nightmare - use the "reset all settings" option on the iphone 6 (settings, general, reset - top option "reset all settings") - you'll have to re-enter your wifi, set tones/wallpaper, enroll in TouchID again but it works. As most people have upgraded from a 5 or 5s to the 6/6plus they setup a new 6 and restore from a 5 back up, there seems to be something in the BT config that the new hardware doesn't like and it needs clearing +++

Quick dials - iOS shows them with a photo of the contact on a double tap of the home button.

When I press the Facebook icon you might not believe this....it's because I want Facebook - not a mini-widget-geeky-pointless-Android-app.

iOS lets you have standard or zoomed (larger icons).  I don't need to resize them in a mini-resize-widget-geeky-pointless-Android-style.

I don't need different icons to the standard ones.  Isn't that a bit like what 'kids' do?  They like stuff like that.  To me, it's all a bit widget-geeky-pointless-you-get-the-idea.

I like the Apple haters.  They're entertaining.  Nobody listens though. :roflmao:

I don't get this at all.  I've gone from a 5 to a 6.  I've not had a single issue in the car connectivity.  I restored from a 5 back-up.

Ill consider that a perfect bite and flapping in the keep net. :roflmao:

Im no hater, there's an imac, ipad, atv, 3g,4,4S & 5 in the house, so hater doesnt quite come in to it. ;) i like different though, and i like some creativity and control so i changed. I think i changed for the better, i expect youve stayed with Apple for the same reason. I did however go out, more than once, to try my phone at the gadget show and in stores before buying one to make sure i liked it and got on with it. And i do. :)

From what ive seen of ios8 and the 6, its another £600 for the same(ish) again. Yes new processor, tweaked camera, some new features Android or jailbreakers have had for years but pretty much the same. Looks similar, functions like your 5. I want more than that for my money, i dont want same again, again. As i said, i got bored with Apple as a phone, love what i've gone to but one day, may have an iPhone again.

The fact that you've had to take my remarks, give a counter argument against and try to belittle with the 'thats for kids' comment may suggest who the hater may actually be. ;)

Now, where did i put that other 128mb micro SD card? :)

One of my mates described IOS as boring, a comment I really just don't understand?

All phones, regardless of the OS, fundamentally operate in the same way, they all have (for the main part) the same apps, they all have icons on the screen that you touch to launch apps, they all send texts, they all make calls, they all do Facebook.

What exactly makes one phone 'boring' compared to another that is basically exactly the same just with a different name on it?

I don't get how a phone can be boring? Surely it's the content on that phone that makes it either boring or not, and if it's boring, then that says more about the people you are interacting with than the phone, doesn't it?

For me, my phone is a tool, nothing more, I want it to work flawlessly and easily, without unnecessary complication, that's why I personally choose (at the moment) an iPhone, my ohones job isn't to entertain me, if I want it to do that, I do that via the apps I load on it.

Thing is, as I've said before...I do have an Android device.  (A cheap ZTE Blade V that is actually reasonably fast and does what I need it to as a good back-up option).

I was also quite a late convert to Mac hardware as I didn't want to move until I thought the offering was good enough - which it was when they finally sorted the OS out with OSX.  That's when I bought my first ever Mac.  Up until then I'd been a Windows user since 3.11 was released (and MS-DOS before it without the GUI).

Storage-wise, the attraction of removeable and upgradeable media isn't one I bother about.  I had a 32gb iPhone 5, now I have a 64gb 6.  I'll not use anything like that.  Same with my MBP - I went for a 256gb SSD in the knowledge I wanted speed and not storage.  So, like you, it is very much horses for courses.

I just love the simplicity of the iOS and OSX interfaces.  Everything just works.  Now, if you're going to do more technical stuff or want more neat but possibly less-used features, then I can see how a less proprietary system like Android might appeal.

We don't disagree, I was just trying to make the point in jest that I don't need the same things, but that if I did....I do have the Android device.  I'm not quite the Apple fanatic that it might be presumed. +++
