patently
Except it's not free, if I have to sign up for something. Do watch the full documentary, it explains how Google is essentially a $500-a-year service because that's the value of the information they take from us. Only trouble is, can't remember the bleeding password to the app ... After the initial login to 1password you can now use the touch ID, Plus get the app on windows or OS X and you never need to forget a password again. Tipex
Clues to passwords? That's an odd one, what sort of clue would refer to a password that has to contain exactly 6 lowercase letters, 2 uppercase letters, 3 numbers and a symbol but not a space or full stop! I can never remember any passwords these days, I normally have to use the 'forgotten password' thing unless autocomplete remembers it for me, some of the specifics some websites require you to have in your password make them utterly un-rememberable. Andrew
Well, I could tell you my method but then ... If your password was your daughter's name (let's call her Tabitha) and your password was T4b1tha, I'd go for something like Dau41 as a clue. Tipex
But 'T4b1tha' as a password doesn't conform to the password requirements of *insert website here* . ;-)
Tipex
And that in a rub, is my issue with passwords, let me choose exactly what my password is, if I don't want capitals or numbers, don't make me have them. I understand that may make it less secure, but that's a risk I'm willing to take, the alternative is that I simply store all my passwords somewhere, either electronically or physically written down, which I'd wager is even less secure.
Mac
It's not just your risk though TiPex, it's the risk of the provider as well. Allow weak passwords, you allow someone to have their account hacked - provider then gets a shit reputation for having weak security.
Tipex
Fair point, it's just incredibly frustrating when you can't make a password you have any chance of remembering.

Mac
Fair point, it's just incredibly frustrating when you can't make a password you have any chance of remembering. Honestly it's very easy - just use a Password manager. I use 1Password for example - creates highly complex passwords and I only remember one passphrase. Auto-fills in on WebSites etc. You just set it up and forget about it.
