sapphire1616
For info. This is/was the original battery on the S8. 12 years old and never missed a beat until now. Talk about quality. Wow!

sapphire1616
My S8 sat out winter after winter, sometimes for 2/3 weeks without being fired up. I would open her up, flip the key and she would whizz into life. I used to wonder how such technology existed that a car could be so reliable. I know they were over engineered, but wow, what a car. I have had many a bike and car over my lifetime, 500bhp cosies, Lister Jags, Triumph Daytona 675, but I can honestly say this is the best, most reliable car I have ever owned. Had the A8 before it...loved that but the S8 is a whole different car. Do you reckon i love my car????
cruiser647
Haha! Good man! So you have no buying regrets - there is a thread in Lounge of Joy about 'car buying regrets'. You must have had one? I had a D2 A8 4.2 - was utterly lovely and I do regret selling it. Sold it at 200K miles, but my current D3 diesel has 240K on it and I have no intention of selling it yet. sapphire1616
Well cruiser647, I am not sure I have any regrets on any of my bikes or cars. Each brought with it a personality. As a family, my wife, son and myself have been total petrol heads. We love to drive fast, never put anyone else at risk though. I have had a few 'up in front of the Magistrates' and always got away without a ban. My job probably helped! First car was a Vauxhall Victor when I moved from a Honda 250 bike Had Vitesse 1600's and 2000's, loved them all. Went back to biking in 1974...had a bad one and was on crutches for two years, so back to cars. The S8 gives me the 4 wheel fun of my Daytona 675, so I get a buzz from both. I didn't mean to hijack this post but, as my wife says, I have verbal diarrhea. My biking days are getting less now and I so miss them. You see cruiser647, you too love your cars! The 'A's' and 'S's' get under your skin and stay there.......love em, or hate em..'Marmite'! Going now....bye!
