fatcat
Here we go again, one for the clever people out there. We have various bits of IT dotted around the house, an Ipad 2 here and there, an Android phone here and there and a Windows laptop and external hard drive. I want every thing (mainly pictures) in one place, so I (under some guidance) bought a 3TB WD MyCloud NAS device thing, all this for £109 from John Lewis (quite a bargain I thought). Has anyone got a MyCloud device and actually managed to download the WD App to make it work on their Ipad. I have it 'sort of' working, but the online graphics look nothing like what I have appearing on my Ipad, I've exhausted the WD Mycloud help website, but it appears that the MyCloud set up favours a Windows set up as opposed to an Ipad one. Despite saying that it is 'tablet' compataible, nowhere does it mention any negative compatability with an Ipad. It states you can interface with Dropbox, Google Drive etc but never mentions icloud. It's slowly dawning on me that maybe the WD MyCloud is not compatible with the Ipad (Despite their being an Apple App for it). Any help out there ! Soulboy
I have got a 2tb one. It works fine with my android phone and windows lappy. I will have a look on the g/f iPad and report back. Somewhere I have a recollection that they were designed initially to work with apple products..... But I may be wrong.

Soulboy
Seems we have got similar issues. Can connect to photos on the WD Mycloud - but not music, or anything via the device. It works perfectly through the windows lappy programme and the app on android phones...

Soulboy
Croc'o'shite then. Not at all! It works great with everything else......PC / Androids / Sonos / Sony TV etc. I got it mainly to get all the CD's downloaded (nowhere near finished!) for the Sonos. And it works great for that, as well as everything else......just not on the I-pad it seems.
