NewNiceMrMe
Can you also refresh the battery? Not as good as it once was. Sky Go especially drains it to buggery. The official Apple stance on this is interesting. All Macbook Pro batteries are guaranteed to retain up to 80% of their original capacity for the first 1,000 complete charging cycles. Mine has had 154 complete cycles (it is rarely used off mains power) but it doesn't retain 80% of the original capacity. Unfortunately though, it is now out of warranty, so I couldn't claim for a defective battery. Apple offer a battery replacement service. Third party repair companies do too. In the case of Apple it includes what they call "responsible recycling of the original battery". Some of the other companies probably just bin them! The genuine batteries can be anything from £50 but there are others out there for half that depending on the age of the machine. I honestly don't know how easy it is to change them. Some of the older machines had batteries like Dell laptops that just clip in and out, but the unibody chassis has changed all of that. If I was you I'd give Apple a call and ask them. I'm going to guess it'll be about £100. Edited September 4, 2015 by NewNiceMrMe
CarMad
Anything up to a 2012 mid non retina MBP you can easily change that battery. After that all of the retina models they are glued in and it becomes much harder to do yourself but I guess Apple still can even though its still hard work for them.
