Mook
Middle class? I'd say working classes too - because as far as I'm concerned tattoos are distinctly the haven of the chav and underclasses. I'm sure that is now going to kick up a shitstorm. Won't kick up a shitstorm - that's your view and that's fine. I'm classed as middle-class, because what I do for a living and where I live. I also like tattoos and am part way through getting a design finished by an artist before getting one. I guess that just makes me stupid
NewNiceMrMe
No different to how I feel everytime I see someone who smokes. Dirty underclass with no respect for themselves. Couldn't agree more.

I guess that just makes me stupid I respect the right of anyone to do as they wish with their body. I'll just never understand the desire to tattoo ones skin. I think they look hideous, no matter what amount of work goes into designing them. Mac mentioned smoking - but you can stop smoking and there'll never be any outward sign that you smoking. Tattoo's are, generally, with you for life though. I have still yet to meet someone who at some point in later life didn't regret having their tattoo's done. That's just my view on them but it certainly doesn't make you stupid, far from it.

They're not 'artwork' as might normally be associated with tattoo's though, are they (from what I recall when I think you posted one of them)? If that is how you choose to remember someone then I kind of get that more, especially as I seem to recall yours aren't what you'd call particularly prevalent or stand-out. No, they're not arty at all really. Most people are very surprised to find out I have tattoos really, to the point where they don't actually see them when they're visible anyways. In reality, the only one that's ever readily visible is a very small one on the inside of my right wrist. I do kinda get what you mean, some tatts do look horrific, and I'd certainly never go for something tribal, or those full sleeve type stuff. NewNiceMrMe
That is my point, entirely. It is the one on your wrist I knew I'd seen and I don't even think I'd have classed that as a tattoo in the traditional sense. It is more of a memory, an inscription. I'm thinking of these chinese things, coloured hearts and swirls, banners of colours, flowers, the tribal crap and such-like. It is personal choice, I know. Tipex
I've finally seen a genuinely useful (well to me at least) app for the Apple watch. Go pro have launched an app that allows live view and remote control of Go Pro cameras, very handy, I have the normal app on my phone, and I also have the remote, but for track days etc, especially with a camera mounted externally, the watch app would be very useful indeed as you won't need to pick up your phone or look for the remote. I'm still not interested in one, but that's the first genuinely useful app I've seen.
shao_khan
I had a play with one over the weekend and colour me unimpressed. its clever and all that, but I like watches and this just didn't appeal to me as a sport watch / casual watch / dress watch, I just know I'd not wear it because it doesn't look very attractive. No doubting that it could offer some people a lot, but having now played with it, I've killed any techy desire I had to own one.
NewNiceMrMe
I find it interesting people are assessing it as a watch from a traditional watch 'attractiveness' perspective - because I don't. CarMad
True, but for me personally I only have two pieces of jewellery on me at any one time, a wedding ring and one of my watches. Now I'm not one for bling even though I do live in Cheshire but I do like to wear a nice watch. Like SK I'm not sold either and if I'm honest it didn't feel as premium as I hoped it would. In relation to my TAG or Hamilton which aren't top of the range by any stretch of the imagination both felt better quality some how. The leather strap for instance seemed a little thin and the bracelet felt cheap albeit I'm sure its very well made. Now this could be my brain finding issues with something that I wasn't sure I was going to get in the first place but the more I tried them on the less I was going to get it. I've had another play with the demo watch and yes I can see the benefit but I think I will wait to see what the replacement can do and what iOS9 has to offer to enhance its capabilities with the phone. I wasn't sold on the iPad at first and we have 4 in the house so anything can happen. I think if I wasn't in the corporate world where I can't integrate everything into my everyday machine then it might have more of a draw but I can't so some of its appeal is lost as well. Tipex
One thing I didn't realise, is that apart from the battery life of the watch itself, which seems to get mixed reviews as to whether it'll actually last a full day or not, it actually drains your phone battery quicker as well, as it's the phone doing nearly all the work, the watch is more like a remote display really. Given my iPhone 6 barely lasts a full day, and sometimes doesn't as it is, anything that drains it faster is a no go for me. Given my iPhone 6 barely lasts a full day, and sometimes doesn't as it is, anything that drains it faster is a no go for me. I would be very wary of the reports on battery life. TSN has someone with an Apple Watch and they are saying they have absolutely no issues whatsoever with the battery life - it gets through a full day and longer without any issue. I read the blog of the guy who is getting a lot of press at present on his thoughts about the battery. He's a tosser. He admits he simply can't be bothered to put it on charge every night as he wants to use it as an alarm clock and he doesn't have a power outlet near his bed! So he has blogged that it is useless because it is dead in the morning due to not being on charge. Apple make it clear it it probably going to require a nightly charge. The guy is getting thousands of comments on the back of it. Most don't read what he is saying - they just say "yeah, crap Apple". The same happened with the iPad - usually written by people who had never used one for more than a few seconds or minutes in-store! I don't get that approach to something. I haven't 'reviewed' one because I've had minimal contact with one and need to do a thorough test before I make a decision. It seems normal with Apple products that people love to pan them when they either haven't ever tried them, have only 'seen' them or, in the case of the above blogger, directly ignore something that has been public knowledge since before launch date! Yes I've read her comments on Facebook, she also said she hasn't really used it much yet. I'm no Apple hater, I've owned and used their products for quite some time now, and I love them, battery life is still an issue for me, as it always has been, things are slowly getting better, but I don't think we'll see huge improvements until there are big leaps in battery technology. Nearly all the reviews I've read from long term tests site battery life as an issue, and particularly that of draining the phone too, I'm obviously a heavy user as my battery can often be dead by 4pm, and something that shortens that even more just wouldn't be viable for me. NewNiceMrMe
I take battery life issues as a given. Products that are as super slim and tech-packed will always drain battery. I just make a decision as to whether or not I can live with it whilst taking steps to minimise the impact. I have multiple chargers. Car, numerous places at home, office, etc. That's because I chose their product and need to reduce any issues that may come with that choice. With a Watch it'd be the same - I'd buy at least one other charging unit. I'd have one for my travels and perhaps if I knew if I'd be sat at my desk all day I'd keep the Watch on charge as my phone would be on the desk in front of me. The point I'm making is that If you buy a product you have been told will last a day, why moan when you want it to last all night too and it doesn't! The negative reviews get the attention. There are also masses of very positive reviews. I believe in saying if something is crap. I don't hide behind the mask of "Oh, I bought it so therefore it is brilliant", because as I have said on here many times I have fallen victim to purchases made on the back of people saying something is wonderful just because they owned it (and found out later to my cost that they were full of shit). An Audi A4 springs to mind - based on recommendations on here. As soon as people had moved away from the A4 model in question, they began mentioning how wonderful the new car was and how crap the old car was. It is why I was so vocal about the Z4. Some people love it and they are entitled to their views and I respect them. I just thought it was completely flawed due to the ride. The X-Type I owned is another example. The Audi was the only one I chose based on people's views though. The blogger I referenced is a guy who seemed intent on doing anything he could to get article views. The press are running with it and ignoring the comments elsewhere that say he is clearly a dick. I still need to give a thorough test of the product before I give any real views on it. Ten minutes in a store won't suffice for that.
Chick
Much love to you all to Well I am starting to play with it a little more, have installed a few more apps I will only use with the watch (heart rate/exercise type ones) plus I do find it quite handy for reading texts (you can only reply with pre-formatted messages atm) and reminders for appointments etc rather than having to get my phone out of my handbag to check the beeps. Havnt played with the siri function yet. Happy to leave on charge overnight, I don't wear any watches to bed anyway so not a problem and nor have I found my iphone battery lasting any less than normal either. Only comment I can make is that is is not a dress watch in any sense, I havn't properly looked at what other options the strap comes in but for me personally I wear it as a daytime watch, unless its just something like the cinema ie christening on Sunday we attended I wore my "real" watch. Our eldest son has had a black face with black strap ordered for his 16th birthday, it's not arrived yet but I would imagine he will wear it all the time like he does any watch. Have had a few comments on it from other people too, it has certainly been noticed!!

The 38mm is the girls version. You need the 43mm or we'lll all think you're a woman. Ask Chick, she will confirm this is scientifically true.
