Kobo e-readers

No experience of the Kobo, but when I bought the Mrs her Kindle it was a very easy decision (at the time) to choose it over the Kobo.

She never puts the bloody thing down though, she must read a book every day or so, and she's never paid for one yet, if you keep an eye on the free section on Amazon, most books pop up at some point.

I have had a few kindles.  Currently have the one with backlight - which is great.  It means I can read in bed if I wake up early and not disturb the wife.  Also setting the font to a size I can read (in bed) without my glasses makes live easier as well.

I tried one of them at W H Smith in Newcastle a good year or more ago and thought it was quite good.

Not the version you're looking at, but I couldn't really find much fault with it for the price.  I do remember reading somewhere that the H2O version had a few speed issues and didn't have 3G, but that in general it was a very good little reader.

Cool NNMM - I shall check it out further.

Having radios (BT, WiFi, xG) is not a problem for me as it is intended to be a book replacement and most epub and pdf content (all?) has to be sideloaded off a real machine anyway.

For browsing I have an Air, rMBP, 2x HTC OneX+, 1x Pwn Phone (Nexus 5) and iPad mini as portable options.  :)
