Andy_Bangle
No hard facts, but some interesting info from http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1123520 If I don't buy another 911 then this is car I'll be getting in full hair dresser spec ... M2 xDrive Cab ---------- Today is a good M2 news day!! My sources, deep within BMW HQ have told me some very interesting M2 news. COLORS The BMW M2 initial color offered when it begins production in November will be: Alpine White Black Sapphire metallic Long Beach Blue metallic Mineral Grey metallic I am sure later on in the M2's production, more colors will be added. I would like to hear which color you guys would like (and why), so be sure to vote in the poll above. So, these are the four colors in which the M2 will be built at SOP. But hey, it's more colors than we got with the 1M! And we ARE getting a BLUE! ENGINE I also have some news about the M2 engine. Again, the engine will be an N55 and it will produce 370 PS (DIN) (= 365 hp) and 465Nm torque (= 343 lb-ft). The engine will also feature an "over boost" of +35Nm (25 lb-ft), in the low to mid range rpms. This is similar to our beloved 1M. UPDATE May 7th, 2015 INTERIOR Found out another interesting tidbit today... as some of you already guessed... the interior will only be available in BLACK with BLUE accent stitching. No other interior will be offered. Who says history doesn't repeat itself! Dackel
Mac
Must admit I'm looking forward to the M2 The M4 I just found utterly soulless - don't get me wrong, was a stonkingly quick and capable ar, it was just missing something to make it feel special if that makes sense. Felt REALLY big too, even though I know it's not. M2 could fill that gap with any luck. With my M3 now on 120K I'm not sure I can hold out however. Boggle. Soulboy
M2 is on my next car shortlist too. The M235i is already a great car, so am expecting the M2 to be even better.

Andy_Bangle
Spring '16 It's still only classed as a concept as it's not officially launched till the Frankfurt IAA (15th Sept) although there is talk it may appear at Pebble Beach as a 'design study'. NewNiceMrMe
Grey or red would have been options, surely? It seems very odd. The engine is an absolute monster and still very tunable too. You'll get 400+ hp from that if you want it. It also sounds very nice indeed (especially with a different filter or new air induction system). I just cannot fathom why they'd only do a black interior. That is going to turn a lot of buyers away in my opinion. Not everyone likes a very dark cabin. dazdot
Looks good, but seeing as though they camouflaged the badge i cant tell what make it is.
Torino101
This has the potential to be pretty epic. Would choose this over the M4 regardless of cost.
Andy_Bangle
BMW have realised it will take sales from the M4 hence the lack of a CF roof and other weight saving materials along with the other options (colours/interiors). Spy shots show it even has the same seats as the M235 although this could change as the S3 and A45 AMG both have sport seat options. Be interesting to see if the M2 goes in to mass production or limited like the 1M.

Well the M235 has been tuned past 430 Bhp (not sure how long the engine will last) whilst Dinan, Hartge or AC Schnitzer will give you an extra 50hhp off the shelf. With AC Schnitzer you even get a 3 year warranty.

garcon magnifique
I can't help thinking there's a pretty small niche between the M235i (with decent spec) and the M4. The M2 needs to be pretty damn good without just nicking sales from the other two. It definitely needs to be more than a tuned M235i with arches. Andy_Bangle
But it can't be too great, or can it? After all it's going to be BMWs entry-level ///M car for around 45k. Then there's still the M2 CSL to come ... Edited July 24, 2015 by Andy_Bangle
CarMad
Its a similar size to the original three series, good engine that hopefully they can fill with a little more soul and some properly sorted looks not just a little play with the front arches (I'm looking at you Audi). Whats not to like, a small car with cracking handling and an engine that will make it go like stink.

I was looking at this week. They are currently offering 7k off. Now just over 30k. If I was up for a new car now - I would have been tempted. Unfortunately it's also white.....but otherwise very impressed. Edited July 25, 2015 by Soulboy
NewNiceMrMe
I think white is the best colour in the 2 series. Personal preferences once again. The interior choice restriction would have me opting for the M4 instead. I know there's the obvious price gap and you'd probably be a bit miffed when an M2 stays with you most of the way, but you'd be in a car that met the specification you wanted and didn't have an interior darker than a black hole.
