shao_khan
Now that My lync has been updated to Skype for Business is this going to prevent me running Skype and Lync at the same time? I regulalry have both running on my PC and my company Lync is shortly to have the Skype for buisness update pushed to it, and I'm wondering if this is going to prevent me using my skype (not for business) instance at the same time? Cheers
Scotty
I'm sure Mac did a blog on this. From memory I think it will be able to run both in the same app .... should you admins allow the private instance of course.
Mac
Skype for Business and Skype Consumer are completely independent and separate clients - you'll be able to run both simultaneously.
Scotty
I must pay more attention!
Mac
The Skype for Business and Lync 2013 are the *same* client but with different skin switches. The Lync/S4B admin can decide which skin you get, or you can set the registry to get the skin you want.
Scotty
I guess my interpretation was "same client" meant a single running instance of the client handling both business and personal instances separately as opposed to two instances of the same client running on a machine. Mac
Yeah, it's not two services one client, it's two services and two clients. Bit confusing at the minute!

Mac
Yeah, I use both. Normal corp one for everything unless I don't want it audited or fall under voice recording....Use the consumer for that stuff!
