CarMad
You can go into settings and see which app / element of the phone is causing the most battery drain since last charge. An easy way to see what might be using lots even when not in use.

Tipex
I'll have to upgrade tonight then, woke up this morning and Music and Setting were both open in the background again, despite not having used either.
burble
9.1 hasn't fixed the problem I've been having with the text message notification on the lock screen showing as coming from a phone number even though I have that number saved as a contact. Come on Apple, get it sorted!
Soulboy
Facebook is causing extensive drain on battery life. That has been confirmed since the last update of the app. Annoys me that I can't remove pre-installed apps I don't use (eg Facebook) on my Android, without rooting it anyway. Is it the same with Apple?
burble
Yep. Facebook isn't a preinstalled app though on iOS. Edited October 23, 2015 by burble

chasdrury
Really? It was on my iPad out of the box (I think) It's on my iphone 5s and I've never installed it since I have never had a facebook account so I presumed it was standard.. Tipex
Basic Facebook functionality (and Twitter) is built in to iOS, along with Android, I'm not sure about the Facebook app being pre installed* but you can certainly delete it. *whenever I get a new phone all my apps are downloaded automatically so I'm not sure what is or isn't pre installed. Soulboy
I dont use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc but they all come preloaded on Android along with a load of other bloatware from the manufacturer I don't want. Even when I go into App Manager and disable them (as I can't delete them) they then need manually bypassing for my daily app updates. And as I was told you should always keep all apps updated anyway for security.....they just pop back to life after an update. Annoys the fk out of me. Tipex
I seem to be having charging issues since 9.1 and it hasn't fixed any of the other issues. Despite being plugged in all night it wouldn't charge past 96%, and it won't charge at all from some chargers any more, even the supplied charger I had to unplug from the mains and plug back in so it work. Rachel
Mr. T. have you tried a hard reset? Weirdly it does seem to sort a lot if issues out, even way back on my iPhone 2G (AT&T).
Tipex
Do you mean hold the round button and the power button until it powers off? If so yes, I tend to do that about once a week anyway.
Waylander
A reset takes it back to base (sans any apps etc) doesn't it? Why do you so that weekly??

Mac
The power+home is an ungraceful hardware reboot. OS gets no say in the matter - no orderly shutdown. You shouldn't have to do that very often though, would cause more issues than it fixes. *cough* waylander.
