chasdrury
Has anyone got any experience with cloud backups from a NAS directly? At home everything is on a NAS and i want it synced to the cloud. At the moment we are useing a QNAP Turbo NAS, but I have a Netgear one to replace it with. Any help much appreciated! burble
When I was using Crashplan I had the Crashplan client running on my Synology DS1813+. It worked fine. I'm not using it any longer as I binned off Crashplan but that was down to Crashplan reasons rather than any issues with the client running on the Synology. OK thanks - what was the problem with Crashplan - I am looking for both an "app" and a cloud backup solution together!
burble
Main problem was that the uploads were horrifically slow due, mostly due to the dedup mechanism but even with that disabled it was still very slow. I know a few people who had problems restoring data and whilst I didn't have any problems like that it made me lose trust in Crashplan so I ditched it. Waylander
I've looked into this recently too. Crashplan or dropbox business. Backblaze as you say won't run on a server but the way I am hoping to get round this is to set up my local backup to an external hdd and then get backblaze to sync that via thr pc
