Nice one.... been waiting for the new MacBook Pro for a while now, ready to buy VAT free via Business

I wonder if it will be a all new design or continue to carry on with the same ethos. a lighter and slimmer model would be most welcomed.

My mid-2016 i5 2.4Ghz / 8GB has lasted a fair while, can't fault the build and longevity of the hardware/OS from Apple....... will definitely buy max spec to ensure another 5-6 year life-span ;)

The Force Touch pad is something I've struggled with on MrsMe's new machine.

I find it a bit too sensitive but I suspect it is something I'd get used to if I was using it all the time.

Buy a protective case for it.  Like yesterday.  The shiny gets scratches and becomes less shiny!

Yeah, haven't done yet but going back on Weds for the business workshop so will get one then. Unless I should look elsewhere?

I think there are better cases on Amazon (and much cheaper).

I bought an Tech21 Impact case from Apple for mine and whilst it serves a purpose, I don't think it was worth the £60 I paid for it.

I bought a £40 InCase in blue for MrsMe's new 13" MBP and that is a much better case.  Nice looking too.

However, the best we have bought was for LittleMissMe's MBP.  £14 from Amazon and does a bloody brilliant job as well as looking very nice for her in pink, blue and white rainbow colours...:roflmao:

In all seriousness though, the case on LittleMissMe's is probably the best of them all.

I think I'm going to treat myself to a new 27" iMac with the new 5k screen, I'm using the kids as an excuse. +++

I have a 5K.

It hasn't been switched on in over a month.  I'm ashamed to say it gets very little use because of my liking of the flexibility of MBP's.  If I have a large document to produce, I may use it.  MrsMe uses it more than me and even her use of it is minimal.  Even our youngest rarely touches it.

The one occasion I do use it more is if I have any html/php stuff to do on my own site.  The screen crispness makes that a doddle for multi-coloured code on screen,  Totally over the top.

When we move into new offices I'll probably sell it to the company and put it in there.  I might then use it as my daily workhorse.

Ours will be for the 'kids'.. me to use for similar reasons and for a bit of gaming once in a while.

The new screen has even better colours than the original one apparently which will be great for photography use. Will probably just go for the middle model and tweak the spec a little bit, this won't be a top of the range machine this time.

I've still got my MBP that will be getting more use I'd expect.

All of my VMs are on the mini, I just fancy getting the iMac for photo work and the kids as they are going to start doing more on a PC going forwards and it will sit nicely in the new man den / playroom.

An iMac is complete overkill, but hey who cares I will enjoy it. +++

Clear iPearl mCover ordered from Amazon 15:40 yesterday, delivered this morning, fitted ten minutes ago. £17.99. Impressed, especially with the little feet on the bottom cover that you can fold out to raise the MBP base at the rear. Also good ventilation on the base and such a neat, slim design you barely know it's there. Hope the tiny clips that secure it are more robust than they look.
