CarMad
Yeah looks interesting a good addition to the market. I'm not a Sky customer but I'd expect Virgin to follow suit with at least 4K soon. I do enjoy the Tivo box I've got its great to not need to add a new series it will just do it for you, have Sky got that now?
Paul
With Sky currently it will record a series link. I'm not sure if it is clever enough to record a new series/season on its own. I don't have Sky currently, but with the latest trend being ultra he 4K tv's I wouldn't consider a Sky contract knowing the new kit is on the way / prices are unveiled. I was hoping they might get rid of the need for a dish in favour of fibre bb delivered content. Maybe we are not quite there yet.
Arch
It can and will record a new season on its own, but it can be hit and miss sometimes depending on Sky calling things NEW: Some new season starts ive missed, some its recorded it twice on different channels, HD / normal. Sky Q looks excellent.
burble
I was hoping they might get rid of the need for a dish in favour of fibre bb delivered content. Maybe we are not quite there yet. You can already get the on demand content delivered over the internet but I can't ever see them delivering everything over the web and doing away with the satellite dishes - they'd be limiting their potential customer base too much. NewNiceMrMe
Yup, as mentioned in the two posts above, both new series recording and on-demand delivered content has been available for a long time. I watch catch up on-demand stuff on my iPad a lot, and our youngest has a few shows on series links that has picked up a new series launch and automatically recorded it. I can't say I watch a lot of Sky compared to what I view over Netflix, Amazon Instant Video or Plex nowadays, but I do still use it and it is ultra-reliable. In many respects we only have Sky and BT for the football and boxing. We dropped the movies a long time ago but have everything else in a 4 box HD multi-room package. As I don't have a 4K TV (shut up Arch ) I won't be buying the new system for a good while.

Tipex
It can and will record a new season on its own, but it can be hit and miss sometimes depending on Sky calling things NEW: Some new season starts ive missed, some its recorded it twice on different channels, HD / normal. Sky Q looks excellent. Same as BT then really, sometimes it'll record a new season of something you have series linked, sometimes it doesn't, I think it's more to do with whoever writes the TV guide than which provider you use. BT Sport looks pretty good in 4k on BT ultra HD.
