Manual Approx 50k miles B&O sound system Black leather interior or carbon Carbon side blades Satnav Heated seats Bluetooth Mag ride (not essential) Tracker (not essential) i have been searching auto trader, Pistonheads, auto village and audi used approved. What sort of price would you pay? Is it better to spend a little more to get used approved? How many owners would you accept? Worth getting mag ride and paying more? Warranty and they usually check them properly. Personally, I don't much care for miles - the more the better for me, means it's been driven and given stuff time to go wrong and be replaced. I don't know if the 4.2 suffers from the same issues as the RS4 with the carbon build-up? Is the V10 too far a stretch? Edit to add - Do Fontain Audi in Iver (Bucks) have any? I spoke to a few audi dealerships and they don't tend to give 2008/2009 cars and would pass them to dealers.. But they would do an audi inspection for £145 or so.. In terms of extended warranty I could buy that as long as car has had all services from main dealer. V10 is a little bit too far at the moment in terms of money and I'm happy to wait until I can afford something more. This would be my first supercar. Check everything twice or 3 times, check with the servicing dealer that the service history is correct. Nothing should have been missed on something that expensive. Anything a miss - walk away. That includes tyres - no crap brands allowed! And no odd tyres allowed neither. Has anybody got a list of stuff to check or are they quite solid? However I haven't seen that many lately, and I think they are very slightly down on stock at the moment whilst their show room is being rebuilt. I ask because I have only ever driven manuals, until I switched to the RS3 which only comes in S-Tronic ( DSG) Prior to this, an R8 V8 would have been top of my wish list too. Having now driven one, a then new 2014 model back to back with my RS3, an RS4 and RS6. I found to my disappointment I hated the manual gated box and found the 4.2 NA lazy and asthmatic. The gearbox just let the car down, and it lacked the urgency of a turbo charged car coupled with an S-Tronic box. I still want an R8, but for me it will have to be a V10 S-Tronic , unless they choose to drop the epic RS6 4.0 V8 twin turbo lump to liven it up. The independent inspection would suffice with that mileage in my opinion. It is still low miles for a V8. I was surprised by how well an R8 drove when I tried one a few years back. It was a bit too sterile for me and I'd made the mistake of driving a 911 beforehand - and that was in a far superior league as far as a drivers car goes in my opinion. However the R8 was still a good car. I can't advise on spec but I'd have thought you can easily gauge 'how much should I pay' by simply looking at what they're selling for (I don't mean what they're advertised for, I mean watching for when the cars have sold). Then saw one yesterday with transferable MOT protection upto £750 claim. I could extend warranty with audi aswell but could be upto £1500 so may buy for first year then review. Seems to be Michelin or Pirelli tyres only on them. Yes I have driven two now and having another test drive later. I like the manual gear actually, feels more challenging and enjoyable for the limited minutes I have driven them. I hear you have to lift foot off accelerator to change gears in S-tronic. I have not driven one. Mileage wise one is 29000 and one is 38000. Thanks for the advice.. Will update you after today's test drive as I think it's down to two cars. One of the main reason that two seater cars change hands frequently is that the car does its job and gets the bloke his girl. They then want kids and the car has to go!
