patently
Wow. When Ferrari say that Wopps isn't enough of an enthusiast, you have to worry they've lost the plot…
Andrew
Isn't it about your commercial value to them? He only has two Ferraris after all - I mean, ONLY TWO. I did hear a journo (Autocar I think) who suggested you need 5 - presumably new too and from Ferrari to qualify. I am sure there are rules to be bent though. Woppum
They are happy to sell to 70 year olds to put in their collections at the end of their buying career rather than the longevity. The tdf is nice but I don't loose sleep over it. Apparently an awkward handler and a big old car. I had a look around one the other day
garcon magnifique
Time to add another marque to the stable? Macca, perhaps?
Tipex
Quite frankly, that attitude towards customers would simply stop me buying any Ferrari, they wouldn't get my money (if I had any). If everyone thought like that, when all their collectors die off, they're f*cked because they alienated the next generation who would have actually used them rather than look at them. Unless of course their strategy is that they aren't a car manufacturer, they are a merchandising company and the cars are simply the bait for idiots to buy their jackets or other branded sh1te?
garcon magnifique
Enzo only started selling road cars to fund the racing team, so you may not be a million miles away. As for allocations of 'special' Ferrari models, it has always been thus but a few examples usually seem to appear, despite threats of black balling those who sell on 'too quickly'. Unfortunately on the whole they drive with an unrivalled edge, the brand is wrong like no other and if you buy the right piece in recent years values are protected. I can't see the demand deminiahing, if anything sadly it make certain people want them more. Luckily they let me buy the best car they have made in recent times for me, the Speciale. E-bmw
I have to admit, I wouldn't. Yes, I know, I shouldn't be on here and saying that, but they don't excite me. I am a simple animal & like my Q-car type saloons. I would commission a new Holden Commodore HSV in a non-descript colour. Everyone who knows what that is knows where I am coming from. Everyone that doesn't would be surprised by it.
Scotty
I don't know if I would or not. It depends what the drive was like rather than the badge and also what I intended using it for. Edited February 25, 2016 by Scotty
Andrew
I'd buy fecking loads of them. F40 & 50 plus a 512TR. And an F12.
patently
I'd have the Q-car saloons as well. I mean, I'm never actually going to win the lottery, so if I imagine it I may as well go large and imagine winning something in the £50-100M range

E-bmw
The VXR-8 is the replacement for it, but in name only. The HSV Commodore was much more subtle. Edited February 26, 2016 by E-bmw
Torino101
I know the sums of money are way way higher, but this is where Wopps gets it so right. He will rarely lose money on a car, in most cases he will make small fortunes on them should he come to sell. So many people say, If I won the lottery I'd buy.... BMW M5 / M6 Merc C / E 63 or SLS Audi RS6 etc. etc. But you will lose BIG money on all of these.
NewNiceMrMe
Or, you could win £32.5 million on the lottery like the bloke from Peterborough. He has huge plans. He currently drives a Skoda Octavia. When asked what car he would buy he said..... He'd upgrade to a Skoda Superb or splash out on a Volvo. He should be shot.
