New Year, New Question - "Virtual post-it notes" on PDF?

We all know you get edgy if I don't ask a question for a while

This one has been bugging me for a bit now.

I have moved with the times (or rather I have made workplace do so) and for the Board meeting I go to I have an ipad with a 187+ PDF of agenda etc etc rather than 17 dead redwood trees for the paper copy.

Which is nice.

But how the heck do I annotate any comments or notes for myself to review on the PDF (ala scrawling on the paper agenda)?

This would be relevant both before the meeting when I am reviewing docs and see things I want to raise about a document at Board or else during it to give actions for myself to attend to after (etc)

Easy, especially if you don't like Evernote (which I don't).

PDFpen 2 and use a stylus/pen.

Brilliant app.

As a side note, I'm using Paper on my iPad Pro now, with an Apple Pencil, and it is a revelation.  It supports 3D Touch is astonishing is a writing/sketching aid.  It is rapidly transforming my use of an iPad.

You could use any stylus, a cheap £1 supermarket pen if you wished to.  You could type but it'd be a bit pointless with the features of PDFpen 2.  There are other apps that don't use a pen to annotate and are free.  Type in "PDF annotation apps iPad".  There are masses to choose from.  Pick the one with the highest rating and off you go.

p.s. as for Evernote, I have given it lots of time.  I've tried twice.  Both on Premium subscriptions that have then ended up being a complete waste.  To me it consumes more time than it saves.  I think it is a perfect example of how different people work in different ways.  I know Daz and Mac rate it highly, but it simply doesn't work at all for me.  I get the functions and I understand the feature set - but there is nothing I can't do more quickly with another way of working.  I'm certainly not going to say it is a crap app, because it has a huge user base and is obviously fantastic for some people.  Just not for me. +++
