cabby
We bought the above from a neighbour and want to get it unlocked. The contract it was bought under was fully paid up so no reason for them not to provide the unlock code. Said neighbour completed the unlock request form but they haven't responded. I have chased Vodafone and they claim to have resent but nothing received. I don't want to keep hassling our neighbour as sort of think they sold us the phone so now our issue. I called tonight but tech support 'refused' to speak to me as I do not have a vodafone telephone or account number . I'm loathe to pay them £20 to unlock as this is something they should do for free (that's my understanding anyway). Are there any ways of avoiding dealing with Vodafone and, ideally, paying to get it unlocked? Cheers

Booster
I had the same thing with my mum. Got her a payg Vodafone sim for free. Topped it up with a fiver. Waited 30 days and then sent them an unlock request and they did it.

Calm Chris
Have tried an update via iTunes? (Not sure why, but sometimes the networks do register the free to use iPhone with Apples register, and when you update it can activate the Apple default setting, which is 'free to use' thus its becomes unlocked)
