  • 3 weeks later...

Approx 1 English year.

So maybe 2018  :P  Only 400 cars for the UK in 2016 (3 cars per dealer on average) and they sold out months ago. Hopefully a few people may get bored and pull out as time passes

How much deposit, 500 or the full 1k?

Which colour you going for?

Yeah I've seen a few of those.

I'm starting to look but can't make my mind up. Driving the 520d I had a few weeks ago was ok, except for the engine. Just didn't have the smoothness or power that mine has and I really missed it. It was strange as the first time I drove one I was quite impressed but this time it just didn't hit the spot.

I nearly took a stunning deal for a nearly new GT again with loads of kit in it but it went very quickly whilst I was deliberating.

Fair point is fair. They're taking so long to phone back I might have gone off the idea. :uhoh:

I'm glad it's not just me, I used to enjoy buying cars, it's nearly 9 years since I last bought one for myself, things have changed dramatically.

I keep filling in online enquiry forms and no one ever calls you.

I've been primed to buy stuff using liberal doses of man maths to justify it but the call never comes, I don't want to spend much money, but I managed to talk myself in to spending 35k the other day after a boozy lunch, luckily no one ever got back to me and once I'd sobered up I decided I only really want to spend half that.

Had any salesman had the intelligence to follow up a lead they'd have got my money, I just don't understand it, I reckon if I was a car salesman I'd wipe the floor with them all, simply by selling stuff and actually following up leads handed to me on a plate, absolute idiots the lot of them.

Imagine having to deal with them all day!!!

Everything that you say is so true. Being in a commission based industry you would think that they would be incentivised to work on leads but they don't.

I think that is why the dealers we work with are so successful. They want to deliver on customer service. If I pass them a lead, I know they will be straight in touch with the client.

Dealers were allocated 8 this year and all sold (obviously). But I am no 5 for next year, they are confident they will get me one in 2017. The dealers also owe me a favour.

I am in no rush and if there are problems, I will just get the M235 instead.

Paid £500 deposit. I only went out for some breakfast.....passed BMW, nipped in and ordered it in 10 minutes.

Blue/Manual.....will spec up properly when I get more time.

Looks like one of those sales manager leaving the business cars. As in, I'm in charge of ordering a showroom car / demonstrator and I'm leaving so I will stitch them up with something that will never sell! Happens a lot.

Anyway, back on topic! Amazing car Soulboy. Hope the wait isn't too bad.
