CarMad
I think the point was that he might not have been able to get out at all and if the car was on fire or he was in a bad way thats not a good thing I'd say.
garcon magnifique
The important thing is proper consideration of risk. Would the halo or something like it reduce the risk of injury in some scenarios without increasing it in others? An interesting comparison of driver maturity is to look at what Vettel and Hamilton have said about it (before today's race).

garcon magnifique
I can see a follow up letter from the drivers: "This is exactly what we were talking about, you feckless bunch of lobotomised bunglecünts."
CarMad
It will be weird weather and it will turn out to really turn things on its head instead this time. Or maybe a complete and utter flop again.

Andy_Bangle
The FIA statement read: “Following an examination undertaken this morning at the Bahrain International Circuit Medical Centre, it has been decided that McLaren Honda F1 Team driver Fernando Alonso should not take part in this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix. Two sets of chest CT scans were compared and it was decided that there was insufficient resolution of the signs to allow him to compete on safety grounds. A repeat chest scan has been requested before the Chinese Grand Prix and the results will be considered before allowing him to race there.” Hope it's not a repeat of last seasons mysterious winter-testing crash at the Circuit de Catalunya. Andy_Bangle
What a start to a race, almost as much damage as BTCC. Knowing JB's luck Vandoorne will make his debut in Alonso's car, and beat him - maybe even finish the race Told ya!
Cuprabob
Grosjean is doing well in the Ferrari Lite☺ Nice guy that Jenson is, I'm a bit disappointed he didn't make reference to the excellent finish that "super sub" had in his post race interview, especially as he's part of his management team. Andy_Bangle
C4F1 says it got 2.3M average and 3.2M peak for the Bahrain GP - with Sky at average 605,000 viewers. These figures contradict the powers that be believe pay TV is the way forward, this definitely says otherwise.
NewNiceMrMe
The Alonso put down of Herbert was cringeworthy. I wanted to crawl under a rock for Herbert. How humiliating. Edited April 4, 2016 by NewNiceMrMe
Tipex
The Alonso put down of Herbert was cringeworthy. I wanted to crawl under a rock for Herbert. How humiliating. Conversely, I don't think it did Alonso any favours either.
NewNiceMrMe
I think it depends how you look on it. I think he has every right to reply and he said nothing that wasn't factual. He didn't call him a bad name and it could be argued he just stated a point in order to make a point. I don't like Alonso. Never have done, but I think he had every right to do it. Tipex
I think it was more the way he said it than what he actually said, if he'd stopped to have a chat and made his point in conversation, I'd have a lot more respect for him.

garcon magnifique
This supposed domination of 'average' Niko Rosberg isn't going to plan is it? Early days. I'm just fecked off that Ferrari have contrived to ruin the start to a potentially competitive season. How perfectly Italian of them...
Cuprabob
Highlight of the race for me was at the end of the CH4 programme they cut to Lee for her thoughts and behind her was a great shot of Vettel's PA, Britta's ass ☺

CarMad
So the lesson is don't run into an ex driver of RedBull and be a bit racy as it won't turn out well for you. Yes thats right Max Verstappen is going to replace Daniil Kvyat at Redbull from Spain and Kvyat will be racing in Torro Rosso. http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/10269746/max-verstappen-replaces-daniil-kvyat-at-red-bull
