For a moment, I thought no-one was ever going to ask

Just waiting for replies from dealers to put ink on paper (etc), but everything is in place to order this:

Black Alcantara-trimmed GTS interior incl. Carmine Red trim

Piano Black dashboard trim

ParkAssist (front and rear) with Surround View

Panoramic roof system

Heated windscreen

Towbar system with electrically deployable towball

Roof rails in aluminium with black finish including roof transport system

Power steering Plus

Air suspension with self-levelling, ride-height control and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)

20-inch Spyder Design Wheel in Black (satin finish)

19-inch collapsible spare wheel

I know, I know, it's a bit more than a used one would have been...

Didn't you want to wait for the next generation model?  It'll be sooooooo much nicer inside. :roflmao:

Ooooooooooooooo.  He should immediately drop all other work and tell us what it is (and then thank people for making him look at a new one, obviously. :roflmao:). +++

Work? Oh, yes, I remember....

Having read the spec of the GTS, can I :-

a) Cracking colour!  Will look good pulling the Caterham

Thanks!

I see.  Presume it deflates the same way?  (or when the air is sucked out of it.)

Yes, it does.  I have one in the 911.  As standard, the Cayenne comes with a can of gunk, but I'd hate to have to rely on that when towing.

Wow.  That looks rather spiffing!

I love those seats.  They're very sporty indeed.

I am now very interested in hearing what lead time they've given you?

The seats are fantastic, and a major part of the choice of a GTS over other models.  That and the fact it goes like stink and corners like a Porsche should and a 4x4 shouldn't.

Should arrive sometime in the summer, touch wood.

Thank god you didn't buy that white monstrosity that started this thread.

Must be a thing with racing drivers, does Plato still have his Cayenne?

Looks lovely anyway, I'm sure it'll make the Disco feel positively agricultural.

Oh, and Ha Ha to all you f*ckwits who said suggesting a newer one was ridiculous, stick that up your arse! :P

Ahem.

Without wanting to spark that particular row all over again, my impression was that their point was that I had come here to ask for views on the pros and cons of buying an older prestige car, and that it wasn't especially helpful or informative to just suggest buying a new one. I have sympathy for that view; I was indeed already aware of the possibility of buying a new one :) and equally aware that newer ones are often nicer and better. It wasn't a possibility that I benefitted from having my attention drawn to...

What helped me overcome my initial unwillingness to buy new was Booster's help in suggesting a finance structure that was more suited to my situation and Mrs P's concerns, not the pointer that new ones are nicer :roflmao:

Although they are much nicer, it has to be said
