Wow, that turned out well.

Whitlock with two historic gym Golds. Rose and Murray take Golds in their sport and Kenny beats his countryman in the track sprint cycling.

A gold is also mathematically ours in the sailing as well. What a great few ours of sport.

Oh and Bolt came good to beat the drug cheats. What was it that Steve cram said at the Worlds.

'Usain Bolt, you've saved your season and you may just have saved our sport '

Just watched the women's Omnium. Trott is incredible. Watched the men's as well. Never seen the Omnium before. The tactical play is fascinating.

It is really good especially the elimination race which is brutal and the points race at the end, which is as you say very tactical.

You should try it. It awesome swooping up and down on a velodrome +++

I have tried it a bit.  Quite scary to begin with.  I have not raced.  Somebody I ride with does race, at Christmas time he got taken down and hit the track - hard.

He drove home (~50 miles), hip still aching.  Asked his wife to take him to A&E - she refused - That’s what happens when you try to race against kids. Stupid Man   Turned out he had a fractured pelvis.

Son races on the track as well, he was at Newport just before GB team went out to Rio.  I walked passed Cav & Wiggins as they were leaving after their last session - the one where they beat the world record.  For that week Newport velodrome was heated to 30 odd degrees!  Some of the kids were setting impressive new PBs during that time.

I knocked my dad off years ago. We were training and throwing elbows, diving up and down, ducking about etc. I was much lighter than my dad and when he realised we were going to collide hard (I'd have bounced up the banking* and come down hard) he kicked back, the pedal hit the track, lifted the rear wheel and went down. I thought I was in trouble so just rose around the top of the track for ages :)

* - The velodrome we used to race on was shorter than Olympic size hence the beds were tighter and the banking steeper so slides down it were faster and harder.

I did a corporate race day on the 2012 track at Stratford earlier this year and it brought it all back. Great fun :)
