JonC
Saw DC earlier this afternoon. There's a residential house round the corner from my office, which, since the change in Government, has had 2 armed Police officers stationed outside all day during the week. Possibly someone in May's new Cabinet, perhaps. I was at an address on the road earlier for a meeting, and DC comes out of the protected house, with his daughter, followed by one of his security. I had to say something, so ended up bidding him a good afternoon having enquired after his health. He's taller than he looks on TV.

garcon magnifique
Looks like he'll soon be free to pursue his dream of becoming a pig farmer.
Cameo
Indeed. Today just goes to prove what a shallow self-serving tw@t he is.
Andy_Bangle
This week an MP, next week a merchant banker (Some might say he was already).
JonC
Nothing wrong with wanting to start a life outside of Westminster.
Cameo
No, not at all. But when he's lectured the public about his commitment to public service, the "Big Society" and not being quitters I think it's rather hypocritical to quit before the end of this parliament. It's this duplicity which is the measure of the man.
garcon magnifique
Not to mention the sheer delusion that by remaining he would be too great a distraction. He clearly doesn't understand he's already been consigned to history and forgotten about outside the bubble. The best thing he can do is disappear from public life altogether as soon as possible. Same goes for that c*nt Gideon.

Cuprabob
Now we understand why he decided to announce stepping down as an MP when did. garcon magnifique
I'm sure that was entirely coincidental.
Andy_Bangle
I thought the same last night whilst watching the BBC newspaper review, when this headline popped up:
