My 6's battery is shocking these days. Struggle to make 5pm. With my usage it used to last all day (10pm) no problem.

I'm probably making this up but I'm sure I read a few years back that iPhone batteries do start to tale off after a few years in line with 2 phone upgrades (iphone7,iPhone 8) so punters trade up. It was probably an anti Apple conspiracy.

My 6S hasn't bent.

But then I haven't sat on it.

Never sat on mine either and it's always lived in a case with a screen protector, hopefully they fixed the issue on the 6s but my 6 is almost Z shaped, it's been bent back so many times now, tend to notice it when I put it down on a flat surface and it wobbles like a chair with one short leg!

Still works fine though, except for the battery, not sure about the conspiracy thing as batteries do degrade after time/ number of charging cycles, never noticed it in anything else but then nothing else I own gets used quite as much.

Thinking back, did they strengthen the shell for the 6S? Not sure. May have done. I do remember various complaints about bending when the 6 first came out, especially with the Plus. Always assumed this was mainly people (mainly girls?) who put their phones in their back pocket. I've never worked out why that could ever be a good idea.

I never put anything in my back pockets so that's not the cause, just normal day to day use, rarely even in my front pocket, only if I'm going out drinking and even then they aren't skinny jeans so the pockets aren't tight, I really wouldn't suit skinny jeans!!

As I mentioned, the side actually has a kink in it now that bends out from the phone slightly right by the volume buttons, I've tapped it back in flat before with a small piece of wood and lightly tapping with a hammer, but it pops back out again after a day or two of bending!

Right, so predictably I bought a 256gb X. Does anyone have the annoyance that when swiping  up to enter the pin code you get the spinning wheel thing then it returns you to the lock screen?

Nope.  Surely you're using Face ID?  I've have no issues with it or manual unlocking (and I've only done the latter twice that I can think of).

I guess how different is that than them using your thumb?!?

I went of the 8+ for other reason and not money and its been great. The guy that sits opposite me at work has FaceID fail several times a day or the clock on the lock screen doesn't appear and the only way to get it back is to re-start it. He has reset it twice and still has problems.

But like others if you have an X use FaceID you might as well have just got an 8 without using it you mad man. ;):P

The only grumble I have with Face ID is that I can't enrol another face/  It;d be very handy if my girlfriend could use it too.  We each have a thumb enrolled in Touch ID on each other's iDevices, it;s very convenient but not possible with the X.

I think the app switching method on the X is clumsy but I'm getting used to it.  Wireless charging is nice.

Regulatory issue with Apple Pay - functionality was in the early betas.

As for Face ID-getting-hit-over-the head. Well, it's a lot easier to grab your cold, dead thumbprint on your phone than it is to get the phone unlocked with face ID.

I will probably stump up the £25 as my battery has definitely taken a hit larger than just age related derogation.
