D3 4e S8 / Boot-lid open warning on instrcluster

Hi Folks,

best wishes for 2023!

My 2006 d3 S8 has an intermittent issue with the Boot lid (trunk lid) open warning is activated on the instrument cluster despite the Boot-lid being closed. It is closed and the shut lines look fine - so it’s not open.

Please let me know if this ‘boot-lid open’ sensing is part of the function of the locking latch and associated motor OR is it a function of the raise / closing motor actuator?
