Ok I'll give up on this one then!

Is it not advisable to patch up wheels?

I've only got a couple of scuff and chip marks that I want to patch up. I'm getting shot of the car within the next 6 months so don't want to put too much money into refurbing the wheels......

If I'd called this Golf alloy wheel colour do you think I may have got more responses? tongue.giflaugh.gif

I got my R32 alloy fixed at VW in Kirkcaldy and when they called VW for the alloy wheel colour VW refused.

They guys the simply used a set of colour patches and matched the colour. Job Done!! So, in answer to your question its quitely likey that no-one will know the real colour so you can't get a match.... have to buy a new wheel from VW!?!

However, prior to my bruv getting his wheels refurbed he used a tin of silver Hammer-rite Smooth and did the job himself - easy peasy and unless you took a close look you wouldn't noticed they'd been scuffed and touched up!

He used, fine sand paper, mini files (fine), and an artist paint brsuh to work on the small areas - take your time and I'm sure you'll get the done.

Oh, also buy a wee tube of clear laquer, nail poish will do, to give the repainred area some shine!!!!!!!!!!

Hammerite!

Man I could paint the rose climber frame and paint a radiator at the same time (sorry it just sounds a bit silly). laugh.gif

Its certainly worth looking at though - even if it protects the wheel from starting to corrode.

I got the patch kit from vw thats comes with the paint and laquer so I'll be able to use that ok.

Who was it you used in Kirkcaldy - I'm only ten minutes away in Kelty?

Oh and cheers jump.gif
