Adam
now that they have brought out a cheapo 150bhp frontWD version will cost about £20k and make what is already quite a common car very common indeed I'm sure it will be very successful but Audis should retain some exclusivity I feel
paulb
Yeah, but its only in roadster form... Coupes are classier anyway. Still, I guess you could argue they do a 150 bhp FWD S3!

Adam
big visual difference between an A3 and an S3 now you get RSTT rims on a 180 (don't understand why they did that) the only easy way to tell a 225 from a 180 is the exhausts stick RSTTs on a 150 - hey presto, looks like a 225 not having a dig at TTs - great car but I'd be hacked off is all
Bison1379134007
so you didn't hear about the oil burning 110bhp s3 yet then adam? LOL which reminds me i need to download the LMAO gramelin thingy
paulb
No worries - didn't think you were having a go. Be interesting to see if the 150 bhp gets 18" wheels - I bet it doesn't. Still, I have nearly twice that power so shouldn't be too worried!
Drillslinger
Hey now, everyone BACK OFF the 150 Quattro "S3"'s My A3 Quattro happens to have 150, and 4 doors to boot
danksy
The 150's have been around with imports for a while, and after all with 2WD transmission they aren't that much slower than a 225!!! (MUCH lighter). Ask Nick Panessar! Its Audis' attempt at nicking some sales from MR2's Trophy MGF's and MX5's etc. They are as common as muck now though and residuals are starting to suffer, (except the 'orrible purple ones )
paulb
Thought Nick Pannesar's was an FWD 180 not 150...
In reply to:
They are as common as muck now though and residuals are starting to suffer, (except the 'orrible purple ones ) [/ QUOTE ] And you want more stars??? Seriously thinking about a V6 (subject to a good test drive). I don't think it is as different as people will think. The 'new' springs and dampers are the 2002 spec anyway IMHO. Since Autocar reported it would have new 18" 9 spoke wheels (which are standard in the UK) I think they just read the German press release with little knowledge. Exhaust sounds trick. Reckon it should be possible to get up to 265 - 270 bhp fairly easily but not much more. Better brakes, but I reckon they would still dissapoint next to my Porker set up. So, if I get one, H&Rs, Konis and brakes will be across from the current one.
Moff S3
I would be really interested in a 150 TTR for my girlfriend. Does anyone know what the price may be and the performance? Does it have all the standard options... leather etc Colin, are you going to be getting these through Sport Import?
Adam
V6 TT sounds good - reckon it will cost a lot to improve power though (relative to chipping a turbo) - only thing that puts me off is the gearbox - souns clever dual clutch but i still like a proper manual the 150TTR definitely won't have RSTTs but that would be the best option to spec - it certainly had slightly less kit and leather might have been one of the victims - thought it was around £21k
Gren
Apparently leather is staying as its only in roadster form. Assuming they'd be cutting 4 grand from costs what could go? 18" alloys, sports suspension, Xenons (not on 180 anyway).... Should look quite a bit different, like comparing a A3 TQ to an S3. Coupes will still remain 'undisturbed' anyway. Gren

Colin M
Moff, yes, I will be offering them. Just got the basic prices here, but no specification from Audi UK yet. Assuming the base German model is the same as the base UK model (not wise, but all I have at the moment), then the car will cost around £18,500 on the road inc VAT etc through Sport Import. If leather is standard on the new 150 TTR, then price will be around £19k OTR. If anyone is interested, do send an email to [email protected] and I'll quote as soon as UK prices/specs available. Scotty
The last time I spoke to Audi UK they said it would not be a stripped out option and would retain climate, electric glass wind shield etc. I think it will be a couple of thousand more than that. nickers
As a RWD fan AWD is acceptable, but a FWD whats the point?! I like just about everyone else thought the TT was one of the freshest prettiest cars around when it came out. But they are really everywhere in London (where I live). And sadly you do get a bit bored of seeing them all the time! Not that I can really talk cause I am looking at a Boxster with the misses, and they are everywhere too, but they are RWD ! Scotty
but those that but the 150 won't be buying it for the drivers experience more the ownership experience.

Scotty
I've been told the two press day dates but I can't say. Hopefully me saying "soon" is ok! I'll keep the forum posted as soon as I get the official information.
silvers3uk
I think a budget TT is a great idea, like Moff, its an ideal upgrade for my girlfriends MR2. And at £19K (from Colin) its just the right sort of money too. Especially as there's going to be a glut of new coupe/roadsters in the next year. Like RX8, 350Z etc etc.
