JasonM
Today on my way to work, just leaving the M4 to join the A329 pop. Car is now at a dealership nr my home in Herts currently lying in 21st position awaiting a colipack. They have 10 coming in on Saturday - I guess to do 10 cars. They can't give me a lead time for supply for mine. They did say that some of the cars at their garage have been there since December !!!!??? I'm now confined to a nice 1.8 avensis for how long who knows, well at least it will save me some company car tax. Looks like they are only going to replace the dead one & not the rest so I guess more fun ahead sigh..............
Hopsta
Jason, just out of interest did you drive your car to the dealership to get it checked ? or go via an Audi Dedicated tech (Roadside assistance) ?? Would appear that the emergency stocks are going to the roadside guys, but even they are running out !! Graham
JasonM
RAC came out to me & tested it - I watched - the coilpack was a deadun. He called ADT but they were completely out. Even tried reading & slough audi but both of them are struggling to clear their backlog of cars wating for coilpacks. Ho hum happy days. If it does take 6-8 weeks at least we should be over the worst of the weather & the other coil packs should be safe.
Sparv
I have to say this situation is getting out of hand. I'm on my 3rd coil failure in 10 weeks since buying my latest S3. I've had the car for only 7 of the ten weeks! I'm thirty something in the list for a new coil at my dealer. My solicitor says I can reject the car under the cirmumstances. I really needed the 4 wheel drive this evening as well, typical. Considering my options..........
JasonM
So guys n gals where do I stand here, guess I just have to wait in line. And thats just it I guess in a few weeks I'll get it back & another one will go. I guess they won't change them all (due to the shortage). Its a company car (& I travel about so need to rely on it) -should I put pressure on my leasing company to reject it until all are changed. Inputs appreciated. DeanS3
Didnt realise how bad this was getting, i hope i dont lose another one becuase i've got no warranty which means no courtesy car which means no way of getting to work!! this is awful Audi
Paul
Dean, call audi recovery anyway, its a known problem.... and apparently they have been fixing people out of warrenty too... its only a phone call. they can always refuse..
Sparv
JasonM, My solicitor stated I could now reject the car as I have given Audi the opportunity to fix the recurring fault (3 times) which they can't. My car is not on HP which apparently complicates matters a fair bit. Personally I don't actually want to reject my S3, but the letter I have sent to Audi and my dealer seems to have shot me up the waiting list. Should have my car back on Friday with all old coils replaced and I've got a rather nice A6 3.0 Quattro to buzz around in until then. To be fair my dealer is doing their best. Good luck with yours. JasonM
Sparky, I lent on Audi UK HQ with the weight of my leasing company & serveral calls to the head office. After being 15th on the list for an 'audi' replacement vehicle, I pick up an A4 tomorrow. And coil pack will be sorted by next week (after being 21 on the list of cars to do). Dont think they are replacing them all but I guess I'll have to suck it n see. Cheers
JasonM
Spoke to my dealer today could be another month without my beloved S3
JasonM
Finally, My coil pack turned up at the w/e. Feels great to be back in it waiting for the other 3 to go. Must admit I'm driving it around like miss daisy at the moment. Just a question when my first one went I noticed the eggy smell from the exhaust, although the engine management kicked in & stopped fuel getting into the cylinder when the coil pack died - how can I be sure that the CAT has not been damaged. Audi seem a bit vaque on this subject ? Any thoughts ?
vagman
Snap....I had one go in my TT this morning. The second in three months. Grrrrrrrr I must be v.v.lucky because I got mine back same day the first time it happened. And by a stroke of luck, I got it back same day again. It is unbelievable that there are cars that have been off the road since Dec and that Jason is 21st in the queue at his dealers. Then to rub salt in the wound, you get a crap Avensis to run around in. Why no Audi. If you wanted to drive a Toyota, I'm sure you would have bought a Toyota, rather than an Audi.
