Cheap S4 Cab anyone

As some of you remember I recently demoed a S4 cab. A few days later it was involved in an accident. I didn't think it was too serious but have recently discovered that it was virtually a write off (over £11k damage). Apparently the front wheels were pushed back.

I'm told it will be sold through auction soon. I guess/trust/hope the buyer will be made aware.

Personally I wouldn't want it at any cost.

The car was FL04 EXP and was sprint blue.

Thanks for the warning CabMac 169144-ok.gif

My Porsche goes on Friday so I'm still in the market and I've got access to BCA auctions online, which means I may have stumbled into that demo car.

No worries!

You're still tempted with an S4 Cab then - at the right price.

I've been watching on the Audi web site and Autotrader. A lot of dealers are now selling there demo S4's. The residuals don't appear that strong. This gives me some hope for owning one in the future - although I'm hoping the 3 litre will satisfy me and save the potential financial ruin that it appears S4 Cab ownership may transpire to be.

Me too: I'd love a B6 S4 Avant when the next model comes out and prices dip big time to new Mondeo money, just like the B5 has done. Have to work very hard and see how my future goes I guess; aiming high but realistically!

  • 9 years later...

Wasn't on HPI, I even spoke to an Audi dealer who said it wasn't logged.

Yes, I paid top dollar unfortunately because it was EXACTLY what I had been after for months :(

It was bought through a dealer, who I am about to talk to about a refund, I just need to know if all the stuff in this thread is true (I suspect it is) and how I can prove it (tricky, no doubt)

Blimey - not sure whether this is good news that you now know or not!

It certainly makes for a depressing read, doesn't it?! It's been in and out of the garage since I bought it now I am staring down the barrel of a £13k engine replacement after 3 months of ownership.

I thought there was some level of protection now for used cars that went utterly wrong within a certain timeframe? A total engine replacement sounds like a flaming nightmare; I really hope the information in here is enough for you to get some level of result.

Do you what legislation this is? I've been reading up on the Sale of Goods Act and various other trading standards policy but haven't seen anything this specific..

Have you had the car more than three months and did any of these issues start as soon as you took delivery of the car?

I bough it in mid May so very slightly more than 3 months. The engine light came on within 3 weeks and was sorted (after a lot of bother) by the dealer. I suspect this and the engine failure are related. Just spoken to Derby Audi who were really helpful but had no log of any damage.

If the car wasn't written off in the crash, it would show clear at HPI.

As you have had it more than 3 months you are out of the standard three month warranty period.

Might be difficult to return to the dealer but remain calm and tell them you aren't happy and your position would be better if they have another car you like so they aren't actually having to give you money back.

Good luck and we are a friendly bunch on here so will help you as much as we can!
