d8vil
hi, I recently purchased a Golf V5, all was ok untill last week there seemed to be a flat spot when trying to accelerate quickly, it starts aroung 3K but if you keep on the gas it will pass through it. It can come and go, i think it is mainly when the car is colder as when i have drivin the car for 1 hour or so its seems to be less frequent. I have checked for: leads or hose off had a new fuel filter added put a decent injector cleaner through any ohter ideas guys Cheers D8vil
Riz
What about the MAF? MassAirFlow sensor. This can cause power loss sometimes. Riz
badgera
Does the engine warning light flash? I had a similar thing on my V5 turned out to be the coil packs, seems to pass higher up as the rest of the cylinders make up for having 1 not running right. If you rev and listen carefully you can tell that it doesn't sound right. Andrew
d8vil
no warning lights come on, it could be the maf sensor but the garage i took it too thought it sounded more fuel related
badgera
Did the garage you took it too hook it up to VAG diagnostics?
Orbit
I had a golf V5 up to a couple of months ago, had all sorts of problems with Coil Packs, Air Mass Meter etc also just before i returned it to the leasing company (early) it too would struggle at around 3K RPM When i took it too the garage they said there wasn't a fault. I would get them to make sure the coil packs have been replaced with the revised part as they seem to cause no end of problems and the car can behave weirdly for quite some time before the warning light comes on
d8vil
it was plugged into the main dealers diagnostic a few weeks ago to disable the airbag warning light, i wounder if this has caused anither problem??? ill get them to check it again Danny
shao_khan
Could well be a MAF as that will cause a similar problem to this (did for me) and didnt show an error on the diagnostics equipement either, just need to keep badgering dealer.
