INFO: How to check for and upgrade the Routers Firmware

The information in this article applies to the following products:

4-Port Cable/DSL Gateway Router (F5D5230-4)

Wireless Cable/DSL Gateway Router (11Mbps) (F5D6230-3)

Symptom

You suspect the Router may have out dated firmware

You maybe experiencing frequent disconnets

Resolution

There is a link in the routers upgrade firmware utility that should take you to http://networking.belkin.com. There is a link there that you can click to find out if there are any available firmware updates for the router. You should also be able to access that web address from any computer by simply typing the address (and clicking go) in the address section of the browser.

To get to the Upgrade firmware screen go to the Belkin Router screen (192.168.2.1) click on Utilities on the left and choose Upgrade Firmware. Check the current firmware version and compare it to the version available on the web site listed above.

To get to the Upgrade Firmware screen in the router utility program click on Utilities and choose Upgrade Firmware both on the left side of the screen
