Booster
I was cleaning the Mrs' Mini last night and noticed that the black trim at the join of the roof and the windscreen had was loose. Not sure if this has always been like this or has if it has just happened. Anyone else noticed it?

Booster
Just noticed my spelling in my original post: Should read: Has worked loose. That's multi-tasking for you! i.e. talking to clients on the phone and posting on here at the same time!
Soulboy
I Will check on the wifes and report back as well.
Soulboy
Just checked it. It hasnt slipped - but you can move the strip and there is a fair amount of play (say 1cm).
Booster
That's what ours does: Moves up and down. The Mini has been far more reliable than my Audi. Only thing that has gone wrong on it was a electric window motor. Coming up for two years old in September. Cheers Soulboy

Ian_C
I believe the screens are a bastard to fit and sometimes slip down when put in, possibly due to the fact they are so vertical. This may explain a loose trim at the top edge. You owned yours from new Booster? Ian C
Booster
Yeah, had it from new so it's not had a replacement screen. The brake fluid is due for an inspection according to the display that comes on when you turn the key so I will ask them about it when it goes in. [/ QUOTE ] My Mrs Cooper has had the same problem but to a little more extreme.. the window top strip has been replaced three times and even one of the front window uprights has been replaced as it flew off whilst driving on an autobahn. I think they're basicaly just clipped and double sided taped in (the up rights) as after it flew off all that was evidence was the double sided tape. Hers was a brand new car also, so the screen had not been replaced in the past. According to the BMW German dealer the top strip is a common problem, but we were the first he had seen with one of the window up right panels to fly off!
