Paul
Thats supposed to be Low boost 9 on a standard TT ....
Riz
So does that mean that thats just the basic output figures? On the picture of the SPS3 there are all those numbers? what do the do? I remember APR do a special program for ppl who run on Shell Optimax fuel`s, is there a program for this via Revo? Could you just explain how the sps thing works, i.e. what all the numbers mean? i cant find any info like that on the Revo site etc. Cheers Paul P.s. Whats the full spec of your S3
Paul
That graph is for "standard chipped" which is known as low boost 9. thats what a TT/S3 would get on SPS1 , 2 and 3*(set on low 9.) with Sps 3 you get : ...( dialed in through the numbers...) Standard Performance (remembers your previous settings from below) Low Boost 0 through to 9 High Boost 0 through to 9 Timing 0 through to 9 Security on /off Fuel type is set by adjusting the timing... Higher the Ron.. higher the timing value. Mine will be 6 or 7 for optimax. 7 for colder fresh damp days. 6 for summer. someone running optimax and millers might choose timing 8. --------------------------------------------- My spec.. 2002 225 S3 Unique Ferrari Rosso Corsa paint.. (Darker than Misano.) 18" RSTT 9 spoke Rims. Mitchelin Pilot Sport. Bose. Sympony II. Armrest. Heated Leather. Ali Mirrors. Luggage Net. Cruise control. TT metal pedal set. Audi Oil Pouch - Spare Oil! Audi Oil Pouch - Spare Coilpack! Morpheous Geodesy and antenna. McGuard Locking Bolts. Philips Blue Vision main beam and side lights. Revo SPS3. Paul
It was daunting at first... but give it a day, and its a doddle. Mate just go for it. when you come to sell, set it to stock and keep the dongle... no one but you(with your specific switch) will be able to get it out of stock, and you can truely sell as a standard S3
Veracocha
There can't be that many standard S3's about now can there?
Paul
at least i have the option to when i sell.... we all know mods can put some people off...
Mollox
[ QUOTE ] someone running optimax and millers might choose timing 8. [/ QUOTE ] ..or 9 and still get no knock hehehe but won't be doing that all day hi boost 5 and timing at 7 or so should keep most optimax/millers runners happy To be fair low boost 9 is a powerful enough place to be
Rich
My S3 is still standard and I can't decide if to chip or not. If I do I will go with Revo just for the ability to change programs!! Those dealer visits . I have 2 worries, the first being warranty, although being able to switch back to stock would seem to cure that, but my main worry is that I plan to keep the car for a good few years and don't want expensive repair bills when the car is out of warranty. I have about 18 months of warranty left then I will probably get a third party one like what Dean has done (soounds pretty good anyway). Obviosuly things like the turbo will be covered under the warranty, but what about bits like the clutch which will take the most abuse? If I remember correctly they ain't cheap to replace either! Decisions decisions.
RobK
Is that a button on the SPS3? I was just wondering how it remembers the settings for boost and timing. As in, if you set the dials at 4 and 9 to select high boost 9, then you want to set timing 7 so change the dials to 5 and 7. Does it just remember what you set the boost at?
Paul
Rob, no button.(thats just part of the case) just two dials... to set boost: dial in...ignition on plug in port wait for beeps... done.... to set timing: (requires dongle plugging in second time) dial in...ignition on plug in port wait for beeps... done.... Go Play! --------- For me, i leave the timing set at 7 and just play with the boost settings. My Fuel never changes. Its always Optimax, without fail. RobK
Oh I see. I didn't think of that - thought it did both at once.

sitas3
[ QUOTE ] How does a 'pinking' engine sound?? [/ QUOTE ] The way i'd try and describe this is a kind of pronounced metallic rattling/tapping sound - normally evident at low revs when the engine is under load, and disappears at higher revs.
