monkli
I have a 96 Polo 1.0 Last weekend I took a full load of my stuff about 60 miles. Since then the car has been juddering as I slow down and I have to drive a gear lower to stop it from stalling. I'm scared - is the clutch going? Tomorrow I'm driving over 300 miles to Plymouth with another full load. Will this be possible, is it a sensible thing to do or will my car break down. If I carry on driving on it will it ruin the rest of the car? My brother who lives in Plymouth is a mechanic so he should be able to do something with it if necessary. Need help urgently - Any advice greatly appreciated - I know nothing about cars! I'm about to go travellingfor a year and this would be a really bad time for my beloved Polo to break! Ritey
Hello, to me that doesn't sound like a clutch problem, however I'm no expect, my advice would be to call your bro if he's a mechanic !
zebedee
Juddering on powering down is more likely to be a Cylinder problem. Either a dodgy plug or lead or an injector or your distributor or worst case scenario have you checked your oil and water for contamination?? Is it over heating?? Could be a Cylinder head gasket. mulkbear
It may be a case of a very dirty thottle body or has Zabedee says.
