New car question

When you say demonstrator, you mean for test drives etc? Absolutely no way should this occur, I'd be steaming if they were letting other people drive my brand new car before I took delivery, although to be honest I can't imagine any dealer actually doing this.

However if you mean allowing prospective customers to take a look, well possibly. Imagine the customer saw one in the showroom with grey interior and wanted to know how the black interior looked, and they had your car out the back in storage with a black interior, you could hardly object to the dealer allowing the person to take a quick peek could you?

End of the day though, if you're unsure ask your dealer what their policy is.

We went to look at my wife's new BMW 5 series a week or so ago. It was in a HUGE inside warehouse with atleast 500 other cars on '54 plates waiting for 1st Sep. There must have been 3 or 4 sales guys with customers with them, and as we walked past you could hear them saying "so this is what it looks like in black with grey leather. Over here we have a blue one with..."

But it was only "peeking through the window for a look" and NOT getting inside and definitely not taking for a drive!

So I guess it's how you define "demonstrator".

I would certainly have no issue with a salesman accompanying a potential customer to have a quick look in my car if it were in even if it were just there for servicing.

Where's the harm? Plus I've had a salesman show me a colour combination or something in a customers car that happened to be in and it can be very useful to see something you're considering actually in the flesh.
