Gareth
Collected the facelift 4.4i Sport last night and it's a real beast The new 4.4 valvetronic engine is a revelation and the sound is to die for.. Seems quite economical too as I'm getting 19-21 mpg so far..

JamesB
btw Gareth, what made you go down the SUV route? Just a change of scenery or have you identified a potential buyer in a week or so's time?
Gareth
Hi James Just fancied going down the SUV route for the Autumn and Winter period. Have an option on a X5 4.8iS for Jan and then would be looking to move into the M5 for May/June time....well that's the idea anyway I drove nearly all the SUV's on the market-both old and new- and the facelift X5 4.4 was just-for me- the best overall option. Covers all the bases and is a superb bit of quality kit. Only downside so far is a rattly rear load cover and the V8 addiction of course Already have a buyer for this X5 though...it's the supplying dealer in 3/4 months p.s. I actually wanted the RS6 avant but couldn't get the one I wanted and the deal didn't compare to the X5 one. Hope you enjoy your RS6 when it comes... I love 'em

Gareth
I actually get 320+ miles per tankful. The new Valvetronic 4.4i is a lot more fuel efficient than the old one. So far my average mpg is between 19.2 and up to 23.7mpg. not bad for a 4.4 V8 that gets spanked a lot
gizze
Wow that is good, I only used to get around 380-410 out of our ML270cdi. Looking at the spec there doesn't seem to be any hit at all with the bigger engines as far as mpg goes. Forgot to say, great looking motor
