MattR32
A minor criticism I have become aware of - The horn on my car is totally gay. A puny, high pitched squeak that's as assertive as a scared mouse. Almost too embrrassed to use it. I need a huge great Artic lorry blaster methinks. Do Awesome GTI do them?! N3WOB
I think it's out of the same parts bin as the TT Didn't think it was too bad TBH, is yours working properly? If you want to hear really a gay horn, then you should listen to an old Fiat Panda's
JaffaCake
I thought my horn was ok, not much worse. It could be gay though, it goes off when I'm about to hit somebody from behind
BigMeanBob
Could be worse, I was driving girlfriend's micra a couple of weeks back and tried to honk the horn at someone....bloody thing sounds like the squeeker on those kiddie driving wheels.... just dipped my head in shame and drove on....don't think the other guy even noticed the horn at all... b0b
s4dreamer
I don't think the horn in the R32 is too bad at all. Now, if we're talking about gay car horns, then my A4 must be the gayest of all. made me wince (no, not mince!) every time I had to use it
Moschops
I though the R32 had a twin tone horn, I think it sounds okay, better than on some models. I think you should get looked at... With all the rain we've had, I wouldn't be surpised if its suffered from some water ingress.
ChrisR32
I think we need to be careful of any-one using the words "horn" and "gay" in the same sentence!! Incidentally, used the horn on the Scooby the other day to say hello to a pedestrian i know........... Lets just say it doesn't match the car!! Smudge
IIRC, at a previous Windsor meet, I was looking at the VAGCOM settings of the R32 thanks to PeterB. Can't remember who's car it was we were plugged into, was certainly an R tho. Anyway, I'm sure within the options there were different settings for the horn. Listed by countries. Whether or not this does actually changes things I don't know. Anyone with VAGCOM able to confirm? Cheers Al.
Riz
The R32 horn is two-tone and i think is the same as my old S3 horn. Pretty good in my opinion. Matt are you sure your`s is working correctly? Riz

MattR32
Doesn't sound like anything's wrong with it, just sounds puny. My mk3 horn sounded much better. Maybe it's just me?!
Moschops
Ah just put some General Lee air horns on it...
mb
I assume the setting "Southern European" must increase the horn's sound, and ability to be used repeteadly ?
Mollox
I have to add that from a Tyresmoke point of view we have no issue with a horn’s orientation. We welcome all kinds of horns here and hope they continue honk to freely. Matt, are you saying you’ve got the gay horn????
