TartanTT
Hi All, My 225 is about to need new rubber. Are the standard tyres the way to go or are there better looking and better performing alternatives. Got to protect those alloys though !!
Scotty
I'm now of Goodyear Eagle F1 DS3's and I'm really happy with them. Wet and dry, they are the best tyre I've had (previously P6000's and Bridgestone 02's)
PaulTT
ScoTTy, how much would a set of those tyres be for my 17" wheels, if they do them?

ccc
Wow - what absolutely gorgeous tyres, Scotty! I didn't think round black rubber things could look so sexy! I'm going to keep this picture in my glove box for when I'm next approaching 'slicks'!

TartanTT
Scotty, I had Eagle F1's on my 1.8T Passat and, yes, they did look mighty cool. Thanks for the piccy but can you tel me what the Alloy protection is like with these babies. The last thing I want to do is buy new rubber and then whack an alloy. Scotty
There is a reasonable rim protector - not the biggest out there but certainly not the smallest. If you gently rub a kerb you should be fine but if you push on, then it's time to call a repair company! This is the best piccy I can find showing the protection. Scotty
Vagman, Nice try but the question was where did I get mine and not where can you get them from!! I actually got them from clairparts.com but this was about 18 months ago and some git knicked them about three months ago. I'm acutally not sure if the TT-shop do them or not. The only ones I can see are the anti-theft ones (I may need these!) where as mine were genuine Audi ones.
vagman
It's a sad reflection on society when scumbags go around nicking dust caps. Some of this should be administered to the culprits. And I don't mind doing it
TartanTT
Scotty, Got teo D3's fitted to the back today. Will wiat a month or so to wear down the fronts. They look WELL cool excpet for where the fitters scoured my alloys. Can anyone on this planet of ours actually take a little care over fitting tyres to damned expensive alloys. Mighty Pi***d Off. Many thanks to all for their advice and input. Just watch those alloys folks when you get them fitted !!!
shao_khan
That attitude used to really P's me off, my 19's I actually took to 8 different places before someone would agree to take care not to damage the wheels as they were ***** Expensive. Got fed up with hearing - "Your own risk mate"
