djandyling
Just been offered a Cupra R (225) as a part ex against my TT roadster from a friend. Just wondering how much these go for private it is black, reg 03, and has 6K miles on it. He says its worth around 15K. Any thoughts. Andy
A3Floyd
£15k seems to be the going price for these (very good) cars. They look fantastic in black too.
Andrew
I would be surprised if it was a 225 on an 03 plate. I think they came out a month after the 53 plate. Not much difference in them though. I've a 210 and they are fantastic. If it is a 225 it will have a red cupra badge att eh back and the steering wheel will have a red band across the top of it. £15k seems like a very very good price to be honest. If you need any more advice to ask away! I've reviewed mine in the tested section of this site.
Pincher
The market for these is dropping at the moment. I've seen May 03 car in Ebony black with 16K miles, including Recaro's (not necessarily a good thing by all accounts) for £13795. Also seen a 03 plate Ovni 225 for sale @ £13,500. No idea of mileage though.
djandyling
It is defo a 225 on a 03 plate, and he has had it from new from a dealer. I think the market for all second hand cars is dropping, bad time of the year. Andy
Pincher
Tell him you reckon it's worth £13K and go from there. Great cars BTW
Andrew
They are very good cars indeed. I've had mine for 13 months now and have no reason for complaint. Just make sure it is a 225 with the pointers I gave you!
djandyling
Thanks, everybody for your help. Will give it another week or so before deciding, but the idea of the same engine as my TTr(225) but with 5 doors for the family sounds a good comprise. Do the back seats fold flat on the leon? Andrew
Yes they do. There is a great deal of space in the back with the seats folded down.

Cupramax
Get mid 20's around town and mid to high 30's on a run depending on how much stick I give it. Have run mine for 2 years now, great car, it'll take some replacing I can tell you. Currently hanging on the new S3 being something a bit special... djandyling
If anyone is interested in his car, email me or phone me (0777 181 4688) and I can pass on your details. It is a very nice looking car, in black but I don't think its for me now because have a new family member on the way. Andy
