Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed that they aren't clearing the mist off of them. Blown fuse? Wifey just pointed out that the wipers when on intermittent, the delay increases when stationery, and then the delay shortens when I'm moving again. beefer1mckee Posted November 10, 2005 Report Share Posted November 10, 2005 yeah i saw that in the manual. however it was 3 degrees celcius the other day, and they did not come on. i have tested to see if the wires are linked in a circuit and they are however they are not powered. someone has suggested the control unit needs reprogrammed to make them work. anyone know? In earlier A6's they come one with the HRW but later ones are outside temp dependant. I beleive there are on the same circuit as the washer jets - hope this helps. beefer1mckee Posted November 11, 2005 Report Share Posted November 11, 2005 is it worth buying a vag com to do this or would i be better going to a dealer and getting it switched on? spoke to audi in dublin, and they did not have a clue! i assume that as the wires are in a circuit it is just a matter of telling it to work via the vag com. would it be a complicated task to do this via vag com? If you look on www.audiworld.com there is a forum and quite recently in the A6 - B5 forum there was a link to a VAG-COM locator. nicknick Posted January 20, 2006 Report Share Posted January 20, 2006 They don't work on my A6 (one of the very first C5's - April 98) ..but that's (apparently) because they were powered all the time (though I've read / heard that Audi changed the way they work several times...hence the many different suggestions as to when they are on) and it's a common fault for the element in the glass to burn out.
