audia8s2
Hi Guys, Anyone had any dealings with Renault regards mods??? I want to put a different exhaust on the 182. K-tec racing do a slightly bigger dual pipe and sports cat. Looks very similar to the original but is a bit more free flowing with slightly bigger exit pipes, also gives the car a more pleasurable exhaust note, which appears to be missing on the 182. One dealer told me I can't change anything under the warranty without invalidating the whole car's warranty. Another person has advised it will only invalidate the renault exhaust warranty ??!! Any experiences?
shao_khan
The 'specialist' for Renault sports cars at Milton keynes (camden) renault was telling me about mods the other day - cant remember what he said Renaults position was though...his 172 is fairly well modded. shao_khan
Cant remember off the top of my head - but if you ask for their 'renault sport speciailist' he is the only one there - apparently he sold more V6 Clios than any other sales person last year!! Slugger
His name is Floyd. The general concensus is that it will only invalidate the warranty for parts dirrectly affected by the mod. Basically its down to the dealer though. A friend of mine has a really modded cup that he does loads of trackdays in and Wests in Bedford do everything under warranty. He broke a gearbox that they fixed under warranty and got it done for him so that he could do a trackday that day (which they knew) and he broke it again. Got it towed back to them and they put a whole new gearbox in.

[/ QUOTE ] Well that does sound reasonable to me, let's face it if you go on the Renault UK website they have pictures of Clio cups on three wheels, they also send you a newsletter by email giving you dates of Renault organsied track days for your Renaultsport, so what do they expect, their encouraging you to thrash the living daylights out of it !!!
