Paldi
Wonderful car and the best color combination going. The dark, almost black interior is stunning. Where's my car? Looking for a lead. Anyone? [email protected]
s4dreamer
Patience is required grasshopper There aren't that many Phaeton's around (in the UK) - regardless of colour, so you'll have to bide your time and watch the used car section of the VW website, Top Marques/AutoTrader and the Sunday Times. I think the VW website allows you to put your email address in so that you can be notified of new vehicles.
Paldi
Oh, right - England. Sorry chaps, I failed to mention I'm in US near New York City.
48Crash
I suggest for New Your City, perhaps something by Perodua? Remember, the Phaeton is a disfigured thwarted opera star, often played by Michael Crawford, who will try to kill you with a chandelier whereas a Perodua is an inexpensive car, much more use in getting to and from the shops. s4dreamer
Sorry Paldi, can't really help you on locating Phaeton's in the US. The only suggestion I can make is that you visit a VW main dealer and see if they have any visibility of stock (including used) at other VW dealers through the computer system. ballachrishan
Choosing a Phaeton is wise, choosing a 3.0 TDi is wiser especially in Silver/Anthracite. Might I add that having test driven the new Bentley Continental with no head/legroom in the rear, only two doors a small boot and £120000 price tag, the Phaeton from the same pedigree, lots of head/legroom, 4 doors and a decent boot, costing £80000 less seems to me to be the bargain of the century. I'VE BOUGHT ONE !

Botang
Paldi have you tried contacing VW head Office in the US, if the US is anything like the UK then they will be able to count the Phaetons they have sold on one hand. You may be looking for a car that they have never even sold.
Paldi
Wow, that first post was early December! Here we are then in March and zeroed in on an untitled V8 with next to no miles. Maybe put the deposit on next week! Or the W12 that's a bank repo!

Calm Chris
Saw a W12 4 seater for sale at Beadles VW (via the local ads). 9k miles, £34,899 how cheap is that?
Paldi
Sounds like a great price if it was US dollars! I picked up mine Friday for US $47,000 or so. Great deal on a loaded MSRP $73,000 car 2004 untitled demo/owner's car.
Calm Chris
Paldi, the W12 goes for £70k over here, so 50% off against 9k miles is a rather generous discount. You guys state side do have great car (and fuel) prices. Mind you, the average wage level............ UK blue collar is at £30k pa / $52k USD
s4dreamer
Sorry, I'm a bit late here. Congratulations on picking up the Phaeton Paldi! How's the car now you've had a bit of time to run it ?
Paldi
Drive it in sport suspension and transmission modes at the same time and it feels a lot like a 2002 S8 only longer and quieter. The Phaeton is awesome! The LWB is really big in back - trunk a little too short. Quiet but with a pretty loud exhaust note with the big V8. Full of luxury items I'm still learning about. Park sensors, navigation, excellent radio and interior beats or equals A8. I'm very happy with it.
