Pontio
Hi im just curious if it is possible to get heated seats on an 8L A3 (facelift 2001 model)? I know they were optional but if the vehicle doesnt have them can they be fitted? retrofit or a good company to fit them? Thanks for any help
CarMad
Welcome to TSN. I am sure its possible but might be expensive. Lots of Audi extras are factory fit and need other things installed in the car not just on the seats. Can't add any more sorry.
Chav
hi. if you want to attempt this yourself, you could order the required parts from vagparts.com ..... I have an a4 cab, not an a3...but to retrofit heated seats on an A4 you need a new aircon unit (350+vat), new seat base heater mats (107+vat each) and new seat backrest heater mats (67+vat) and custom wiring loom and if you want rear heated seats on a4, you buy heated seat switch to go at rear of front centre console (27+vat) and 2 of each pad, and wire it up. the seats will need unstitching/restitching too of course. i'd imagine labour costs would be considerable for this kind of thing, if you dont do it yourself. A3Floyd
Another option is to look for a set of heated seats from an S3 thats being broken up - you'll have no problem selling your unheated seats on for near enough the same price. They dont show up very often, mind. From what i remember, the S3 has all of the correct connectors as the wiring loom is the same for all cars. I checked this on my old S3 (without heated seats) and the connector was indeed there. I considered doing the conversion for a few days but decided that it wasn't really worth the effort.
