[Audi A3/S3] Heated seats

hi.

if you want to attempt this yourself, you could order the required parts from vagparts.com .....

I have an a4 cab, not an a3...but to retrofit heated seats on an A4 you need a new aircon unit (350+vat), new seat base heater mats (107+vat each) and new seat backrest heater mats (67+vat) and custom wiring loom

and if you want rear heated seats on a4, you buy heated seat switch to go at rear of front centre console (27+vat) and 2 of each pad, and wire it up.

the seats will need unstitching/restitching too of course.

i'd imagine labour costs would be considerable for this kind of thing, if you dont do it yourself.

Another option is to look for a set of heated seats from an S3 thats being broken up - you'll have no problem selling your unheated seats on for near enough the same price. They dont show up very often, mind. From what i remember, the S3 has all of the correct connectors as the wiring loom is the same for all cars. I checked this on my old S3 (without heated seats) and the connector was indeed there. I considered doing the conversion for a few days but decided that it wasn't really worth the effort.
