DavidMann1
Could someone video their sat nav with bose so i can see the DIS and pictograms. The functions and what it does, etc make a god video from it. Such as voice's and the quality of it. I'd like some user input please.

DavidMann1
Looks good Sat nav however its very expensive. My next car might have to look like this in July... New Audi A3 2.0T FSI quattro S line 3 Door - Colour: Pearlescent Misano Red - Acoustic parking system - Automatic dimming door mirrors - CD autochanger, for six discs, mounted in the glovebox - DVD Satellite navigation system Plus with BOSE - Front centre armrest - Interior Light Pack - illuminated door openers, vanity mirrors, storage compartment, footwell lighting, reading lights in front and rear, ambient lighting and active door reflectors - Light and Rain Sensor Pack - auto dimming rear view mirror and auto low beam mode for headlights and auto windscreen wipers - Metallic or pearl effect paint - Non Smoking Pack - deletion of ashtray and cigarette lighter, replaced with storage compartment and 12V socket - Upholstery - Leather/Speed cloth, black - Xenon headlights with automatic range adjustment and headlight cleaning system Can't Wait, The only thing that is bothering me is the facelift, as I DON'T want the sportsback rear lights, however the front grill I quite like. But if the front grill comes with the sportsback lights then I may have to thing again. Does anyone have any ideas of facelift and when? jazz_2004
Please forgive me to jumping into this post - Im going to beselling my Golf 1.8T for a S3 very soon, Im certainly going to be wanting satnav - Planky I noticed that in the pictures you've posted that the S3 satnav supports displaying directions and info in the FIS (is this right - we call it in the VW world or is it a DIS) My budget for a the S3 will be around 13k I will be looking for a facelift model not bothered if its 210 or 225 since I'll be taking it to AmD. Im going to be retro fitting this satnav - what should I be looking to buy - actaul Sat nav (navigation plus) do I need a TMC unit for it communicagte to the FIS cluster Display - I see in your pic that it can done. Can I get tv or dvd's running with the use of the TMC unit -naturally Im looking for the dynamic navigation mode as well. Does AUdi support this as VW does? - it reroutes your map when there's traffic build etc... Lastly does the S3 support the new oem dvd satnav? many thanks guys ps any dedicated audi satnav site like vwnavi.com?

DavidMann1
Don't really know myself mate, I'm not up with the 8L model myself. However just one question has anyone in the 8P got any video of sat nav please of facelift details?
langtonr
Sorry David, didn't realise you were talking about the 8P. As Paul said earlier, i'd get an Audi dealer to give you a demo - as far as I know the satnav should be the same in all the new models. Jazz, Yes the audi satnav does display directions in the DIS. Fortunatly I managed to find an S3 that already had the satnav/tv fitted so I dont know exactly whats involved in doing a retro fit, I think theres some posts on it on here or maybe audi-sport.net. People seem to say that the aftermarket units (tomtom etc) are better than the audi satnav and a lot cheaper, but obviously the installation isn't as tidy as an OEM unit. If you haven't found an S3 yet and really want the satnav I'd be tempted to hunt around for one thats already got it fitted, I doubt it will put the asking price up by as much as its going to cost you to do a retro fit. Theres some audi satnav info here http://www.nav-plus.com/instructions/ - i think its an american site so there wont be anything on the a3/s3
langtonr
forgot to say - you can get it to re-route you if theres traffic build up, but as far as I know you have to manually put in how far the congestion is. (could be wrong, I've only had the car a couple of months and haven't got stuck in traffic where I don't already know another route!)
