Fucawi
Looks like VW are moving up a notch by stating that they are going to put the R36 engine in the new Passat. "The car will be powered by a 280bhp version of VW's narrow angle V6 engine with an FSI direct injection system. Capacity will also be increased to 3.6 litres, raising the possibility that the flagsip Golf's engine will be upsized too." - Autocar 1 Feb 2005

s4dreamer
[ QUOTE ] It'll still depreciate like a lead weight! [/ QUOTE ] If the Phaeton is anything to go by, then yes it will. It depends really on whether the Passat that they stick this engine into is going to be an 'R' model - set up like the R32 and limited in numbers, or another W8 disaster. Markallain
Sounds like this 3.6 could maybe push 300bhp if in an R. This would certainly have me interested if the rest of the car was right.
