cheechy
Is it just me or does everyone have problems removing the wiper marks left on the windsreen? (ie the area that the wipers cover looks different to the area that the wipers don't cover if you see what I mean?) No matter what I try I just cant get rid of them? Any tips on what to use or is it just one of those things?

R32Ash
I got some Mer window cleaner. It seems to do the trick quite nicely. I know you can use toothpaste(!)to remove more stubborn marks from a screen though, as it's slightly abrasive, but not enough to damage the glass. Could be worth a try? cheechy
I've got and used Mer but it doesn't remove this but does make a fine job - just makes a nasty mess of white spots everywhere (if its the same stuff I'm thinking of)
whimsical_chris
Is it a wear thing ? Maybe some glass poish ? I use RainX on mine and its lovely. Its a relativly new bit of glass mind, so that may have something to do with it :-)

It's a white emulsion-type polish so it is a bit messy
Gren
Autoglym Glass Polish (the cream stuff not Fast Glass) when I can be bothered. Trouble is the first time you use your wipers .......

Guess its also worth checking theres no muck on the wiper blade that will eat into the surface. C

UBM
I use AutoGlym Fast Glass occasionally, but bung on a good coat of RainX at every wash (usually weekly). Don't get any wiper marks!
SPLiiX
I am forgetting to put on the Rain X - especially in the winter as it takes a bit more time but I should! I washed my car in the snow yesterday (did not freeze???) I now have the cleanest car in the street (as always) hehehehehe
Ari
Always worth running the sponge along both wiper blades each time you wash the car, keep them nice and clean. Reduces smearing and marks.
CarMad
I have to say I don't like using anything on the windscreen. Some of the products out there cause more problems than benefit in my experiance. You tend to get a film across the screen when you turn the wipers on that hinders not helps. I have to admit I haven't tried rainx might give it a go. But a good sponge and leather can sometimes be better in the wetter months of the year. I just ensure that the blades are as clean as possible.
cleanimage
Iv'e been trying to get hold of some rain-x windscreen wipers. They are supposed to be really good, but Ive never seen them in this country. Rain-x keeps my specs nice and clean!
whimsical_chris
LOL, yeah I have rain-xed a few items at home :-) My skylight beads water wonderfully :-) and my bicycle lights never seem to get muck on them any more. Wonderful stuff :-) Also like the washer enhancer stuff ( pink stuff ) that keeps the screen clean and rainXed with each squirt of the screen washers... cheechy
Agh - bought some Rain-X and put it in the boot. Forgot to take it out for a day and went back in to get it to find it had opened up in the plastic bag gah! I was sponging it up and trying to use as much as possible but I think its half empty Thats like three quids worth!!
whimsical_chris
Yup the pink stuff is a rejuvenator or something, you only need to put a tiny squirt in the washer tank so a bottle lasts years :-) http://rainx.com/ doesnt seem to list it, will check it out tonight and let you know the name, came from Halfords if it helps...
