stevebalfe
Hey guys Well, ive read this post and at first thought you was all going to give this chap who posted this a kicking, like some of you did me when i posted the '160mph and still going!!??' post. Anyway, firstly, the A3 3.2 is an awesome car standard, and shen the decent mods are available, it will be unbelievable!! Ive dragged raced a lot of cars and very rarely beaten. TT 3.2 as listed in my post, kicked his arse on the autobahn ;-) These cars ive beaten easily from both standing and rolling. Recently Golt GTi 2.0 TFSI (not easily, but convenicingly!!) Golf GTi turbo Golf VR6 Escort RS Turbo (chipped, tuned with a mad jap driver bolted in the driving seat) Leon Cupra Citreon Saxo VTR & VTS modied and standard Civic Type-R (these are my fav to kick ass just to see their faces when slowing down to exchange glances) BMW 330Ci & Convertible BMW 325 TT 225, not sure if it had been modded, was dead even from a stand start to 80mph!! To me it must of been as i have owned 2 of these cars and neither in my mind were anywhere near as quick as the 3.2!! Mercedes 230kompressor coupe (drag only) Mercedes 320 kompressor saloon (drag only) BWM 540 & 730 (both made little impact) (drag only) Lots of TDi's, the most surprising being the Skoda RS, now that was nippy 0-60!! surprised me. BMW Z3 2.8i (this guy lit the tyres up three times from three standing starts at traffic lights and i kicked arse each time. Was very funny as i have rebadged my 3.2 as a TDI!! haha makes me piss when they think they've just been done by a deisel ) Ermmm what else, god knows, lots, but the cars that have seriously kicked my arse were.... Mitsy EvoIII (distroyed me!!! Then had another embarres me on the motorway, now that did hurt) Mitsy Evo7 (again, not a nice sight) Brand new 05 C32 AMG Estate, gorgeous car (got me from the lights but not by to much i have to say, but i reckon the mad jap driver was suicidal, so i eased off after a half mile) Nailed to a post by a 911 Turbo Hung drawn and quartered by a Jaguar XKR 04 Scooby STI (left me wondering what had gone wrong) 04 M3 BWM (left me for dead from a standing start) But my most favourite of all the times ive had thus far was with a Alfa 147 GTA! We dragged through Trafford park one late evening, lots of straights and round abouts, awesome, i berried him on the round abouts and he was up my arse on the straights, when we got to the other side we put down the windows laughing at each others commitment and chatted for about 5mins as our cars pinked and relaxed from the previous 6 or 7mins racing. Was a great night! So, now all you who hate me for being so honest, yes, its dangerous to race/drag whatever, but if done in the right areas at the right times with the right people, then it can be exzzzzillerating and safe (well safe'ish) JUST DONT RACE IN RESIDENCIAL AREAS!!!! ITS WRONG! AND WILL CAUSE FATALITIES NO MATTER HOW COMPITENT A DRIVER YOU THINK OR KNOW YOU ARE!!!!!! Over and out..................

stevebalfe
Hey guys, well was traveling up north and came across an R32 on the Moto.....autobahn, i could see this chap was up the arse of another car so decided to go in pursuit, i thought the R32 was fast!?!?!?! haha oh well, you should of seen this lads face when i passed him at 115mph and kicked his arse. His look of, errmmm whats going on, why you passin me was just brilliant although that said, i must admit he did eventually catch back up when i eased off at 150mph So, there you go, another one to add to the hit list of the A3 3.2 So if any of you have any doubt about the ability of this car, think again. As for the guys comment about the BMW 1-series being a good car hasnt he read the reviews, seen the car, driven it more to the point, its crap from front bumper to rear bumper, has the power of a Skoda Fabia VRs if your going down hill and costs twice as much as that car and 30% more than any other car in its class with similer precs!!! So please tell me, how does this make a good car Regards Steve

He probably backed off. At that kind of speed most people would... including me! [/ QUOTE ] The 1 series won most, if not all of it's group tests when it launched (i work in the industry so i like to keep an eye on the mags). I agree, by BMW standards, it looks shocking IMO, what a wasted opportunity!!!!!! But it apparently drives well (being RWD) and i would hardly call a 170bhp TDI slow! In fact it is v.hard to find a crap car these days, all cars are good (some are just overpriced)

byron13
Agree - how can you "kick his arse" it what is essentially the same car?? Ever think that not everyone races you? or perhaps other drivers don't drop it down the gears all the time to get max speed. Besdides I suspect most people quite like their drivers licence which is going to be arare commodity if you are doing 150 in the UK. Audi's 3.2 must be a freak if it "eases off" at 150!! ChrisR32
Check my signature below and let me know if you've got any questions as to how the cars perform. Or you could carry on speculating as to whether certain vehicles/drivers were trying. P.s. Below about 80, i needed to draw a map to let the TT know which way my Sti had gone. [/ QUOTE ] like i said at the start. its all common sense. the point being made by byron was an A3 3.2 won't demolish an R32 unless the R32 wasn't trying. that's fact. stevebalfe
p.s the R32 may be practically the same engined car, but obviously doesnt produce quite the same pull at high end!? dont ask me, i was only driving there at the time!???!! As for the other driver trying, why did he then decide to stay with me at 130+ then i slow down to 90 he's as up my arse as close as physically possible, then a drop and go and he slowly drops behind, admittidly, buy a approx 8 car lenghs, then as i ease off again, he's up my arse. I eventually let him buy for him to only terorise the car infront, and sat up his arse like he tried me until the car pulled over and he was off again!!! So please please, dont assume you know best unless you have phyically been there and done that. Taaa :-)
