Bought this one from Martin Ingham but warranty will not cover clutch etc.

I don't want to spend but I am prepared to as I intend to keep the car for a long time so want the car to be perfect, the clutch still has a while left but would rather replace it sooner as it is heavy (boxster clutches get very heavy as the get more worn) now and the GF finds it difficult in traffic.

Variocam is a worst case scenario but I am preparing just in case.

One thing you'll learn if you get your Boxster Smitten, is that they are expensive to service and maintain, but it's worth it 169144-ok.gif

An OPC will charge £1150 to sort variocam issues, but a good independent, like Ninemeister in Warrington, will do a solenoid repair for around £300, but I would very much doubt if it came to this.

The Countach was with him for bloody ages. Looked a stunning car but I wouldn't fancy the repair bills if anythng went wrong. I rang up about it and if I remember rightly it was a "Bonzai" edition or something? Hadn't a clue what that meant!

What suspension did the 2.2 have? Our 3.0 has the sports pack as standard and is on 18" wheels and the ride can be a bit hard at times, but is infinitely better than our old Z3 2.8....

Sorry Thorburn, I missed this before.

I'm pretty certain the car I drove had standard suspension, not sports.

I found it as hard a ride as I'd want and the handling seemed superb (although like most modern cars with big wheels, it had so much grip that it just cornered with no slip what-so-ever).

I've read that the sport suspension is just too stiff, and based on this car I'd assume that would indeed be the case. I like stiff suspension (have sport suspension on my Cabrio) but the standard suspensdion seemed to me to provide as hard a ride as you could want whilst still being reasonably comfortable (if a little jiggly).
