sicce
Hi guys, I am looking to get a new Touareg (my first 4 x 4) - so couple of questions: 1. whats it like to drive 2. Whats the reliability like. 3. Are there any good dealers out there, my local is a waste of time, never calls back. 4. Any good discounts to be had (I have no pax). Thanks Jay
loddrik
I wouldn't limit youself to one dealer anyway, play 5 or 6 off against each other to get yourself the best deal possible. I'd imagine that you'll get a good bit off a petrol model, you'll find the much more in demand diesel models more difficult to negotiate over though. cruiser647
[ QUOTE ] 1. whats it like to drive [/ QUOTE ] Can't say. That is for you to find out. It is all down to what you think is nice. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc etc....... Ignore what all the car magazine drivers think. Find out yourself - Otherwise we would all be driving BMW's and Fords! (YUK!) [ QUOTE ] 2. Whats the reliability like [/ QUOTE ] Now this, you can read and listen too. But all cars of this genre have recalls and reliability issues - usually confined to the first batch out of the factory. Your new one should be much better now. You know there is a new V6 3.0 TDi model now????
shao_khan
[ QUOTE ] 3. Are there any good dealers out there, my local is a waste of time, never calls back. [/ QUOTE ] Hahahahahaha - and you wait until you have to try to service something with them - it actually gets worse!!!!! I have driven a few now and really like the ride quality - how much you thinking of spending on one? Dont forget you can get a Porsche badge for similar money and Porsche Finance (if you are going that way) is cheaper than VWs generally. I found the small oilburner was just a bit lacking, it isnt bad by any means but did lack ooomph, but some of the bigger engines are fantastic V10 <drooooooool> You should be able to negotiate discounts on the VW as I gather they are selling but not as quick as they would like, but I would ring around dealers and as Lodders said see what you can play them off against each other for. shao_khan
That kind of base price does put you firmly in the Cayenne Teritory, obviously depends on spec you want, but might be worth considering.

shao_khan
Maybe - but I imagine residuals on the ugly car will be stronger than those on the 'pretty' one.
