Don't know if it'll work on the Polo but on My Lupo i switch the ignition on and then press and hold the trip meter botton and start the car. Once the car starts i hold the botton till it resets the service light. Works for me hope it works on your polo

if no luck you could always try the Golf way -

On Golf do this:

1. Push and hold the odometer button.

2. Turn on ignition.

3. Turn digital clock button clockwise, and choose the service you want to reset.

4. Turn off ignition.

Your Service indicator should now have been reset.

i've been fannying around with this problem for a bit of time. I have a 53 plate Tdi Sport Polo and Benjie's method worked rather than the manual's way
